Update:
I'm editing my review to add the staffers worked to address the issues after I brought them to their attention, and I really appreciate that. I had past experiences in which nothing was done to make things right. So that differentiates Alvernon from other businesses.
Original review:
The optometrist I visited, Sharon Peterson, was great, but other staff need to work on better communicating with customers.
I was told my glasses would take 2 weeks, yet I didn't hear from staff. I called after 3 weeks and discovered my glasses were apparently there and ready for pickup.
I also ordered lenses for my old glasses, and those too were already there.
Had a staffer called me, I could have picked up my new glasses and dropped off my old ones earlier.
After I dropped off my old glasses, I was told it would take an additional week. So this whole process has stretched to 4 weeks. Personally, I don't think service should take so long when you are spending so much money on glasses.

I paid a lot for my glasses and only had them for about # weeks. Were supposed to have scratch protection but they got some bad scratches. I was thinking I was going to have a hard time, but they took care of, new lenes, I was pleased because it was at their expense. Very nice young lady took care of the entire deal. I'm pleased

This recent visit to your Alvernon Optical on Tanque Verde was a wonderful surprise. I met your optical lab expert Ian Brox who gave me his full attention to help fix my broken glasses. I ended up getting a new frame, and with Ian telling me he could "custom" fit the old lenses in the new frame if he could meet me at the Lab on Alvernon the next day. So that's what I did and he was so nice and so quick and so helpful, I could hardly believe it. He was incredible. Thank you so much. He helped put an even more positive spin on your Alvernon brand than I already had. And I always had a positive spin on you all anyway!. But this topped all of my experiences there. Thank Ian, please. I did when I was there, but know that he is truly one in a million.

Everyone is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Peterson is an absolute joy, and I love having her as my optometrist. I enjoy my visits so much every year that I pick out a new pair of frames every time.
Ian has also been great at helping me pick out what frames best suit my face and match my style.
Booking an appointment is easy, and most paperwork is done on a tablet. Although they don't have a huge selection of glasses frames, I've never had an issue of finding one I didn't like.
