We've had an outstanding experience with Dr. Thomas, our Vision Therapist Todd, our care coordinator Ginnene and the entire vision therapy team! From the very first visit, we were impressed by their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for our son's well-being. The progress he has made under their guidance has been remarkable.
The office is welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating, making every visit a positive experience. The therapy sessions have been tailored to meet our son's specific needs, and it's clear that they are deeply invested in helping him achieve his best possible outcome.
We are so grateful for the difference they have made in our son's school, sports and home life and would highly recommend Dr. Thomas and the team to anyone seeking top-notch eye care and vision therapy!
Just had my first SET therapy with Emily. Not only was she a delight, I came in with my shoulders at a crazy angle (left super up, right super down) and left with them perfectly aligned. I've never had such a drastic change in so short a time. Can't wait for my next session.
Arizona Vision Therapy has been amazing. Ever since my daughter began the program, her focus and vision have improved remarkably. The staff and doctors really know what they are doing and really make you feel like family. Nothing but good things to say about AVT!
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Dr Thomas has done wonders for my son. He had 2 brain surgeries at the age of 2 to remove a brain tumor. Since the surgery, areas of the brain have struggled especially ones involving balance, speech, and fine motor skills. We began at the age of 5 doing the sensory learning program and vision therapy with lenses and we are BLOWN away with the improvements we have seen. His speech is improving and ares of the brain are being activated in which were suppressed with surgery. Every time we go and get new lenses we see him get better and better. I can't express enough how wonderful Dr. Thomas and her staff are. Thank you for all you have done.
I started with AZ Vision about 8 months ago and it's been a lifesaver. My concussion symptoms have become much easier to handle. Life feels much lighter. My brain is less foggy and while I still have some work to do I'm grateful that it isn't as overwhelming as when I first walked into the office. Before coming in, I couldn't even complete a puzzle which has been my favorite past time for years. I'm back at completing 1500-piece puzzles without any problems at all. The staff is very accommodating and compassionate. Coming to appts always feels comfortable and I look forward to each visit.
Other than the friendly staff, I am not impressed by the results of my daughter's treatment. Granted, we had to move about 9 months into the treatment, but I saw absolutely no improvement in her lazy eye during that time period. I would expect SOME improvement in her condition in that time period. Even family members agree that her eye is the same now as it was before the treatment. What was I paying for? Almost a thousand dollars wasted and wear and tear on my car to drive there from 1.5 hours away. When I made my first call to the business, the lady on the phone said they had seen success in patients all the way from (I think it was New Hampshire), so I thought certainly I can get some success from 1.5 hours away. At my daughter's final appointment, the doctor said something along the lines of, "Hopefully you can find a vision therapist at your new location so you can start doing vision therapy." I thought, "Weren't we already doing vision therapy? All the exercises that we did so loyally and the colored glasses she wore all day...was that not vision therapy?" I was very surprised. This needs to be explained to patients better. Granted, maybe this treatment does not work for everyone, but I still cringe when I think of how much money I spent and how I got nothing in return. I can't afford that in today's economy. Now I have to spend time to find a doctor and have the actual surgery performed because I would be dumb to pay more money for this with another vision therapist.
Incredible staff! This is our home away from home and I'm so thankful for the help and care for my daughter who has optic neuritis and a vision impairment. It is through the constant care, analysis, kindness and positive attitude that we are where we are today. It may have taken a year to get here and maybe longer to stablilize her vision but she is happier and healther now. We can see how much it's helped her focus, vision, body, attitude, schooling, and socialization for her to continue working through this life challenge and never giving up.
We are soooo happy with the results of the vision therapy. They changed my son's life. He went from not being able to see with his one eye to having pretty clear vision. He was willing to put in the work and it paid off! We have used Dr. Penrod and Dr. Thomas for other eye, mind, body, and brain issues and will return to see them as needed. We are very fortunate to have such compassionate and competent providers.
