I've had multiple issues with this office but today is the last straw. Showed up for my appmt after booking it over the phone a month ago and apparently they didn't have it booked in their system. Already off to a great start wasting my time and then the lady at the front desk pulled the "Did you know this is a fragrance free office because you have a lot of cologne on" that was it for me. I've liked the Dr. in the past but I can't deal with this office anymore. I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you like Karen's then this is the place for you.
I highly recommend Civano Eyecare!! The entire team treats you like family from the moment you walk in. Dr. Finnell is by far the best optometrist I've been to in Tucson. She truly cares about you, your eye health, and vision needs. I've been to many optometrists over the years, and no one compares! Plus, it's great supporting a local business rather than a big franchise. If you're looking for genuine care and expertise this is the place to go!!
Civano Eye Care is truly top-notch! Dr. Carolyn Finnell is outstanding -- professional, thorough, and genuinely compassionate. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes you feel completely at ease.
Andy was incredibly kind and helpful, making the entire experience smooth from start to finish. The rest of the staff is just as friendly, attentive, and supportive. You can tell this is a team that truly cares about their patients.
I left feeling confident, cared for, and grateful to have found such a dedicated group of professionals. Thank you, Dr. Finnell, Andy, and the entire Civano Eye Care team for your excellent care!
Muchas gracias!!!
I had a great experience here. The receptionist and Dr. Finnell were friendly, professional, and efficient. Dr. Finnell was thorough and made me feel comfortable throughout the exam. As a military spouse, it can be hard to find places that feel this welcoming when you move around a lot. I highly recommend this office to other military families and anyone looking for quality eye care!
I was able to obtain an appointment with Dr Carolyn Finnell. I started looking at new glass frames as I had not had an eye exam in 3 years. I wear glasses for craft work, painting, sewing and now my computer work. Dr Carolyn growled at me and said a person of my age should have an eye exam every year.
Dr Carolyn suggested that I try soft progressive lenses. She checked my existing prescription glasses and then we set out to fit the lenses. I got the hang of putting in and getting out of disposable lenses in about 15 minutes. I found the new lenses amazing...incredible even.
Dr Carolyn then gave me a further eye exam. I was given a prescription for these new lenses along with a personal copy of my eye report.
I found Dr Carolyn warm friendly, knowledgeable, totally professional.
I would recommend Dr Carolyn to any person for their eyecare needs.
Thank you Dr Carolyn.

I've been a loyal customer at Civano Eyecare for several years, but unfortunately, the quality of their service has drastically declined over the past year. They've shifted from offering clear and straightforward pricing to unexpectedly adding extra charges without prior explanation. Recently, my husband called to cancel all of our upcoming appointments due to this, but they only canceled some and then charged us a $77.14 no-show fee for an appointment that was supposed to be canceled.
When I reached out to resolve the issue, the staff was incredibly rude and condescending. After some back and forth, they agreed to waive the fee, but the very next day, they called back, reneging on their promise and insisting we still owed the $77.14. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect has been disappointing.
Due to this experience, we will no longer be using Civano Eyecare and will be sharing our experience with others. There are plenty of other excellent eye care providers who are honest, transparent, and prioritize their patients over unnecessary fees.
Dr. Finnell and her staff are absolutely wonderful. The office gives very thorough eye examinations and expertise in finding glasses. They are all very informed, patient, and address any concerns. If you have an eye emergency, the office is very quick to get back to you and get you in to be seen. Our whole family was able to be seen and we never felt rushed. I highly recommend Civano Eyecare!
Please do not give this woman your business!!! My husband is new to contacts, had them for one yr. He recently went in to get his eye exam. His prescription changed, she gave him a cheaper contact to try on (which he wanted cheaper) after a whole 3 minutes of trying them, she said "how many months do you want to buy". He immediately found them to be uncomfortable, and also liked his old script better. When he contacted her 3 days later, she told him you are SOL and I told you they would not be as comfortable. GREAT customer service!!
I reached out to them to see if there was any option for him. Tom was VERY nice on the phone, but they never got back to us. Called back 2 days later, I have NEVER experienced such a rude attitude, especially from a Dr.
When I pointed out that she should have *AT A MINIMUM* as the experienced DOCTOR....
#1 Suggest he try this new script before he purchases 6 months worth.
#2 Suggest he try the new style contact before he purchase 6 months worth.
#3 Recommend he not open the new box until he is sure.
#4 Tell him these are non refundable once you open the box.
Here response was... "well he is an adult, he tried them on" (for 3 minutes) "and I said to him, how many months do you want to buy." She said she would reach out to a representative to see how they could help. Instead of being the adult, taking some sort of accountability for her lack of communication with a patient that is new to contacts, she sent a nasty letter, with untrue information on it, making it seem as though he had done something wrong. She can no longer be his eye provider.
Dr Finnell - The dates you stated on this letter are absolutely false. You state "You wore the trials for 2 weeks before opening the boxes of lenses received" Did he? How would he know to do that?? The dates don't add up sweetheart.
I picked up the contacts for him April 10th. He opened the box Friday April 11th. He called you the following Tuesday April 15th complaining. I called you April 18th. That day you knew he had opened the new box, after using the trials for 5 days, and they were still uncomfortable, he didn't like the new script. Where are the 2 weeks he took to wear the trials before he opened the box?
You have the absolute worst attitude and customer service I have EVER experienced. Especially for a family owned business, what a shame.
You should really retire. You are not giving patients the proper warnings and advice for getting a new prescription, and you have a terrible attitude. I will gladly share the letter you sent to anybody who wants to read it, which shows your rude, nasty, lying attitude. Also the receipt, which does not state no returns, no refunds, no exchanges.
PLEASE read alllll of the horrible reviews before you go here, wish we would have.
