Dr McDonald is without a doubt the best optometrist I have had the pleasure to work with. In fact, his technical expertise, and overall grasp of complex opthalmalogic problems is remarkable. Over the last two years, they have definitely upped their game with diagnostics. Visual field Testing, glaucoma screening, and retinal evaluations have become state of the art. As a physician myself, who takes care of complex patients, I am extremely impressed by his professionalism and attention to detail. His staff, particularly Melissa and his tech are wonderful. They both go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and deliver excellent care with years of experience. The selection of eyewear and lenses are also stylish and modern! I cannot imagine a better experience for all of your eye care in the Tucson area. Recommend highly and without reservation.

Dr. McDonald went above and beyond to answer all of my many questions, and gave me useful new information that I had never gotten from any other optometrist. Plus, he put me at ease and made me feel comfortable, which is SO important during an eye exam. VERY thorough, top-notch care. I highly recommend!! Thank you, Dr. McDonald!

Dr McDonald is very kind and very professional, helping my wife and I with the questions we had regarding our eyes. The testing was thorough and results explained clearly. We hope to continue returning to Dr McDonald over the years as our eyecare doctor.

I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so kind and courteous. The doctor was very thorough and explained things so it was easy to understand. Picking out my new glasses was a breeze. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good eye practice to come see the wonderful ladies and doctor at Envision.

Dr. McDonald's eye exams are a refreshing and VERY reassuring experience. His care and counsel are truly exceptional and a clear departure from the typical "lick and a promise" supposed eye exams by the more advertised eye glass mills. Not the easiest location to find, but WELL WORTH IT!! Bob C.

I had a terrible experience here. And first it was great. I thought the doctor was terrific. He was very thorough and professional. The entirety of my problem arose because of the office manager/optician. She measured my pupillary distance after my exam and she got it wrong. When I came back for my glasses I couldn't see out of them correctly as they sat on my face I had to literally lift them off of my face a bit and tilt them. Because I've never had any issues with someone measuring the PD incorrectly I had no idea what was going on. They had me come in for a repeat eye exam which yielded roughly the same results. Yet I could not see out of my glasses. Instead of realizing the optician had measured the PD incorrectly (I found out later that I had all of the symptoms of someone having done that), the "friendly" eye doc went into gaslighting/berating mode. I found out by accident they had measured the PD wrong when I got another reading from the subsequent place I went to, who I'd been to years before and they had the same PD reading from years earlier, both different from Envision. Envision finally remade my glasses with the correct PD after the PD reading was furnished to them by the other eye doctors. Even though the doctor had been horribly rude and gaslighting and borderline combative in a long, horrible personal phone call he made to me, no one apologized for making the glasses wrong or treating me badly instead of just fixing it. The problem is with the office manager, his self-described "best friend." When people have no consequences for their actions and their bosses blindly believe in them, they can be very unprofessional and abusive. Obviously this is the fault of the optometrist as well. He just couldn't believe that they had done something wrong and he kept wanting to talk to me about it instead of just fix it. It was a stressful exhausting depressive nightmare to deal with them, and I'm so disappointed because I liked all of them very much at first. This is a business and it should be run like one.

The front desk staff was very courteous and made my experience a breeze. The doctor was very knowledgeable and made me feel well informed and comfortable with the information provided. My issue came with when I was purchasing glasses afterwards, I followed the doctors instructions and took a seat at the table to wait for the staff to assist me but when the staff member showed up she seemed frustrated that I wasn't already looking at frames. While I was looking at frames she started to rush me. I ended up hastily only purchasing one pair when I would have bought 2 and in the future I'll buy the frames elsewhere after the exam or go somewhere else altogether. Regardless of whatever circumstances caused her behavior or the miscommunication between her and the doctor- it's none of my concern and I shouldn't have endured the brunt of it.
