In summary, if you have a high prescription requiring high index and value a scratch resistive lens, DON'T BUY GLASSES HERE!
My family and I have been getting our exams and glasses from this nationwide Vision for 15 years, however the quality of product and service has really gone downhill. I like the doctors here, but the lab they use now for glasses is totally worthless. Obviously they are going with the cheapest options.
See my photos to compare same frame glasses from the previous lab to this new lab (the old ones have a much thinner lighter weight lens, which is even more apparent in person).
I pay for the highest index because I have a high prescription, but the "High Index" here is a complete scam.
The lenses I just got from here are so thick and heavy, they make my glasses very heavy and uncomfortable despite using the same exact model frame. The heavier weight gives me a headache and vertigo and feel so heavy on my nose.
My prescription hasn't changed much either, if at all.
I tried to get used to them to avoid the hassle of returning, but then after just a couple months of normal wear and careful cleaning, they started to show many small scratches and one larger scratch (hard to capture in pictures, see red circle areas for the more obvious scratches).
My older pairs from the previous lab don't even have this many scratches after years of daily wear and heavy use (but rather the scratch resistant anti-glare coating starts to kind of peel off).
Management was not willing to do anything, saying the lab will only make the lenses thick/heavy again, and they indicated that the scratches were my own fault.
Like I said before, the other pairs, I used for 5+ years before they started to show any scratches or wear on the lenses at all. I have done nothing different, been wearing glasses for 35 years.
So this lab's anti scratch coating is also of very poor quality.
The material and cut of these glasses is NOT HIGH INDEX or scratch resistant!! Absolute Junk!
I will not return to a Nationwide again, and will look elsewhere. It's not like they are cheap, even with insurance.
Could pay the same and get a pair online from a different company or Costco, without insurance.
Also, nobody called me to let me know my glasses were ready, so I ended up having to call them after over a month to inquire.
I guess the glasses were just sitting there waiting to be picked up.
One last annoying thing, they don't like to quote you AHEAD of time what your insurance covers and what the cost of glasses/exams will be, because they blame the computer system, apparently it's too difficult to pull up the information on what things will cost with insurance copays.
I've never been somewhere that could not pull that information up easily and tell you exactly what you will pay before starting the process of purchasing. Yet the employees seem annoyed when you ask for quotes without actually running the transaction. Nationwide, you really need a complete overhaul.
I may dispute this purchase with my credit card company so I can get a quality pair elsewhere, done correctly, like my last 20 pairs of glasses over the span of 35 years. Believe me, I KNOW what a quality pair should be.
Both of my kids went in for their first eye exams. My son and daughter are 5 and 6 both felt comfortable with the doctor. The exam was quick and the lady in the front gave them a toy and I believe they got goody bags as well. I noticed they had some nice choices of sunglasses and bought myself a pair of Ted Bakers and like them a lot.
I had an emergency and needed an eye exam, contacts and glasses. They got me in right away and took great care of me. The entire process took less than an hour. Special thank you to Valerie who helped me select a flattering pair of glasses. Highly recommend this location!
Great place. Super front desk, very welcoming and then to Tina who is caring and kind. Dr is very understanding, friendly and encouraging. Highly recommend
So I was coming at all ended up with a Sparcc that hit my eye and I thought it was OK stay after my eye I noticed a little black dog and I thought it was just like something in there. Come to find out it was metal rust and the Doctor at grant & Campbell drilled out and then I came to get a check up at the 7860 n oracle road and the doctor there he was great as well
