Xuemin Zhang, MD

Dr Zhang is extremely competent, kind, friendly, and humble. She refers to other specialists for consultation as needed and works well in a team. She shows compassion and care, and will not promise outcomes she cannot be sure of. Highly professional and ethical.

Dr Zhang is the best! She put me at ease right away and answered all my questions. Both my surgeries were total successes and I owe that to her skills as a surgeon. Plus all the people in her office are wonderful. Everyone from the people at the desk to the nurses are friendly, happy and very nice. To me that means Dr Zhang is a great person to work for because they are happy.

If you're a young patient, please do yourself a favor and read this post. I never leave reviews but if I can save someone's eyes and time then this post is worth it. I started seeing Dr Zhang for recurrent corneal erosions during my pregnancy and debilitating dry eye pain. I wasted a year of my life seeing her and waiting three hours per appointment every week to be seen by her for 10 minutes just so she can gaslight me and tell me that my eyes don't look that bad. I finally went to see a dry eye specialist after seeing a great corneal specialist. it turns out that I have severe Meibomian Gland Dysfunction-most likely to a year of chronic inflammation. During the year that I kept seeing Dr Zhang once a week, I continued to complain about my chronic inflamed eyelids, drop intolerance (even to preservative free eye drops), and couldn't have any air by my eyes. She told me that it's in my head and I have anxiety. I've never in my life had anxiety and now at 34, I've developed anxiety. However, my symptoms were textbook signs of MGD and she ignored it due to her big ego. She pretends to care for your well being but she's so busy scheduling caratac surgery's that are money makers for her, that she sees a young patient and assumes that they're fine. She has RUINED my eyes by her dismissing my concerns time and time again. My current doctors are wonderful and spend a lot of time with me due to the severity of my condition. Yes, I did have MGD but because of her carelessness, my glands atrophied during her care. I'm currently under very intense MGD treatments and deal with pain every second of every day while caring for two babies under two. I even had to quit my job. I might have to end up in Scleral lenses because of Dr. Zhang and I'm only 34 years old. Do yourself a favor and if you have any kind of dry eye- please go to a dry eye specialist.

Dr. Zhang is competent, professional, caring and listens carefully to this patient. She also is very good about communicating if necessary, via email. That is rare. There are three negative comments I can make related to the clinic itself, not Dr. Zhang. One: the wait seemed to be quite long after taken into the second waiting room. Patients were lined up and waiting. It was about two hours from entering the testing/waiting room until I saw the physician and this was an 8:30 am appointment. Two; loud "music" constantly playing over the ceiling speakers; that is unnecessary and adds nothing positive to the experience; Three; the seats in the main reception area and in the waiting room as well are very hard and uncomfortable. Dr. Zhiang deserves a top rating. I suspect the corporation that owns the clinic is over-booking patients and not allowing the physicians adequate time to provide top-notch care to each patient. Always a good experience with Dr. Zhang. Very experienced in her field and kind. I have had great outcome with two surgeries. All office personnel are on the ball. Can't say enough good about all that get you through your problem. Thank you for doing a great job.

I love this place. Called in with a possible eye emergency and they fit me in. Whew! So grateful. Very clean and efficient and pleasant. Also: the bathroom is 5 stars. This place takes pride in everything.
