Kilgore Vision Center

I went to the Kilgore Vision Center in Mountain Home for years, and the doctors and receptionists there were always kind, welcoming, and great to work with. After moving to Harrison, I started going to the Kilgore Vision Center here. I've been in twice, and the doctors are still great. However, my experience with the optical staff has been mixed. One optical employee was not helpful at all, while the others were much more helpful. My husband called ahead to ask about getting copies of receipts and was told over the phone that they wouldn't send them via email and that he could come in to get them. Maybe it's policy, which is fine. When he arrived, the employee he dealt with was rude and dismissive, acting as though she did not have time to help him and saying she was "super busy." While that may have been true, it does not excuse her behavior. Everyone can have a bad day, but this experience was unacceptable. The doctors are excellent, but the front-of-house staff are the first people customers interact with, and their attitude sets the tone for the entire visit. Customer service in the optical and front areas is extremely important and needs improvement at this location.

Everyone was professional & friendly. I was so happy that Dr Kilgore didn't do a hard sell for extra surgery that insurance wouldn't pay for. I'd heard horror stories about other vision centers doing that. I was incredibly satisfied with Kilgore Vision Center.

Friendly staff and Dr.Alex Kilgore was knowledgable and had integrity by not pushing me into surgery at this time. He allowed me to decide my treatment after advising me and informing me of my choices. Highly recommend Kilgore Vision.

I traveled overseas to get help with my vision and, to be honest, I was very skeptical at first because I was told in my country that nothing can be done and all I can do is to get use to it. My vision is back to normal. No words can describe my gratitude to these great people. Also, special Thank you to doctor Steven T.Rea for such a precise prescription for my glasses that made my double vision disappear. I can see like a normal human being again. I wish I could recommend this clinic to all the people I know, but I live too far away. However, whoever reads this, know you are in great hands, and everything is going to be well. What a waste of time and money. Went to Kilgore vision in March to get new contact lenses as I was in Harrison working. During the exam I told the Dr my left eye was blurry, he said don't worry about it. Bought a years supply of contacts, but my left eye is blurry and can't see to drive with the new contacts. Went back in April and was told that it was the correct prescription, the two females that I spoke to very pretty rude. Went back again to see if there was a soultion and was told I'd have to get used to it. Had to drive to my old eye doctor 4 hours away to get the correct prescription. Don't waste your time or money at Kilgore vision. Very dissatisfied to say the least.

Over all with the exception for my optometrist Steven Rae was not a good experience. The front staff was rude and did not have good listening skills. I paid extra for the eye refraction test which allows me to get a prescription. However they don't like giving you all the information you need because they want you to buy your frames and fill your prescription there or pay more money for the information needed to fill your prescription where you want to. The person who finally handed me the paper was also rude and unprofessional. I WILL NOT go back to this place. I wish the optometrist worked at another place. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I met with Dr Kilgore for the first time today. I am very pleased with him and the clinic staff. Very efficient and professional. I felt welcome and not rushed to get to the next patient.

If i could give zero stars I would. The Dr wouldn't actually talk to me about my daughter's eyes and they never too actually picts or did the eye puff thing. My daughter is 8yrs old and was scared and not wanting glasses the lady helping with choosing glasses did not make the situation any easier. She was extremely rude slamming things around just rude the whole time. If she hates her job that much she dont need to be dealing with people and definitely not children. I will never go back.
