Dr. Kirby Smith, O.D.

I too have had issues with the front desk clerk. He is rude and has no customer service. I called for directions and he just keep telling me they are in the same place. I asked for directions so obviously I don't know where that is. I sent my family here and due to the change in front desk clerk they all have gone somewhere else. I'm def doing the same and recommend anyone reading to go elsewhere. Dr.Kirby is fantastic but the horrible service you get from front desk clerk alone is worth going to another OD sadly. Also... got my eyes checked in Sept and ordered contacts and it's about to be Dec and I still have yet to receive my contacts. NOW. I've called and the number isn't a working number. Hope they didn't steal my money and close up shop!

Dr. Smith was my eye doctor for 20 plus years although my issue isn't with him he's great but his staff is not. In the past my experience was wonderful before the new front desk clerk is very unwelcoming and rude. I've been try to get my glasses adjusted for 3 months they fall off my face seems like an easy fix but after several calls, left VMs and sent an emailed to no avail no return call. Thanks Dr. Smith for all the years you are great but both guys at the front aren't customer service friendly. Looking for a new eye Dr.

July 2024 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I am a returning patient of Dr. Kirby Smith. He was my doctor while located at Lakewood Village. This was my third eye exam by him. He is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I have always received the best care from him. He recently acquired Dr. Horner's practice and relocated inside the McCain Blvd Walmart. He also has different scheduling staff, which should improve patient experience for those who previously complained. I am happy that he continues to provide services in NLR.

Dr. Smith is good but other recent reviews mirror my experience. Ordered my oldest grandson his first contacts in July. I ordered and paid for a year's worth but only received half of them. Still haven't received the other half. This is the end of December. I have called several times and I only get rudeness and condescending attitude from the new front desk guy. My grandson is almost out of contacts. I want to talk to Dr. Smith. I have two other grandsons who I have brought to this clinic for glasses and contacts and have had no problems in previous years. Front desk guy has cost Dr. Smith 3 patients because I will be looking for a different optometrist office in the future. Meanwhile I still have to try and get the rest of my grandson's contacts.

We've been using this doctor since 2018. Our first year there they were absolutely amazing and fostered such a learning experience for my child. Since then 2019 and this year, the guy who sits at the front is less than welcoming, less than friendly and all of the staff seem like they could really careless about their clients. Their front desk guy has zero bedside manner for the clients and his tone is very firm and abrupt. In 2019 I just thought maybe they had a rough day and didn't think much about it, but I also see another person has commented something similar about the decline of customer care as well specifically in regard to the front desk guy. My children seem to make him nervous and he has been less than patient with them two years in a row so blaming Covid this year is no excuse as the experience was the same last year. Same exact experience two years in a row that was less than great speaks volumes. Also, I had to remind the guy putting my kids information in the computer that he didn't check the center of their eye and mark it on the glasses then when he did my child was not eye level with him. She was looking down on him while he was looking up at her when he marked them. They are also currently locking the door behind their patients locking their patients in their facility during their appointment claiming its due to Covid restrictions. I'm not 100% certain but I have to wonder if that is an OSHA violation. The Dr is great and his glasses are quality But he is also not around to see what else is going on other than in the exam room. I've recommended tons of people to them since 2018 and will no longer recommend anyone.

Dr. Kirby has been my eye doctor since 2013 I have enjoyed him as a doctor over the years, and his professionalism when servicing patients. The reason why this review is one star is because the front desk clerk literally can make your experience at the eye doctor a trip to HELL ! I went to the eye doctor March 27, 2021 and I still have not received my glasses. The front desk clerk does not return any of your phone calls, he does not follow up with scheduling appointments when you leave a voicemail. And if you are able to get him on the phone he has the biggest attitude as if you were inconveniencing him. I will not be returning to this establishment if this man is still the front desk clerk. I will never give my money to this establishment with this type of customer service.

Dr. Kirby has been my eye doctor for over 2 years now. I always enjoy going in to see them as the entire staff is very friendly. I get colored contacts and after every yearly exam I'll try on multiple color samples. They never rush me and are very helpful with feedback and advice when I ask for it. I highly recommend them!

Ordered my husband contacts over two months ago, and we still haven't received them. They also never have a trial sample to get him by, as he is now out of contacts. They keep giving us excuses and say they have no idea what's going on. The front desk guy is completely rude and blamed the situation on my husband. So unprofessional. Last year, we ordered contacts and they ordered the wrong contacts and we had to wait for the new ones to come in, they also blamed us for them ordering and giving us the wrong contacts! Completely ridiculous.Horrible customer service. Should have learned my lesson the first time...save yourself the trouble and stay away from this clinic!
