I have had the worst experience I've had attempting to get glasses. They scheduled appointments and canceled them without telling me , the Drs were great, but the staff doesn't call back or answer questions . Definitely never coming back ! I first went in November 2024 It is now may 2025 and I still have no glasses .

The staff was awesome. From the front desk to everyone behind the scenes, they made me feel cared for, they were all very compassionate and put my mind at ease. Dr.Walia is the best, very caring and friendly and knowledgeable in explaining what's going on with my eyes. Surgery went great. I can see again. I don't need glasses for anything except close up reading when before I needed them for everything. Thank you so much. I highly recommend west coast for your eye care concerns. My daughter and I absolutely love Dr. Walia. He was so great with her and knew exactly how to speak to her on her level as an 11yr old girl. It was the cutest thing! I really appreciated that and on our way out my daughter said "He is the best Dr ever". All of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The MA that worked her up was the sweetest with her as well. Recommend!!!

West Coast Eye Institute has been a part of the Bakersfield community for over 30 years, and we take our role in each of our patients' lives seriously. We are the only ophthalmology practice in Bakersfield to own our own LASIK machine and use a 3D surgical display, which allows us to provide exceptional eye care from the best eye doctor in Bakersfield, CA. Dr. Sandeep Walia earned his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. His M.B.A from Chadron State and attended medical school at Texas Tech University. After his ophthalmic residency at the busy Emory Eye Center with over a dozen publications, he furthered his surgical training by completing extensive cataract surgery training at Harvard Medical School.
