Horrible experience here. I brought my teenager for an eye appointment and had to bring my younger two children (2 and 3 years old) with us because my husband works. My children were playing nicely but when they spoke above a whisper, the jerk at the front desk asked me to keep it down. I'll NEVER come back here again and I don't recommend anyone with children to go to this office either!

Absolutely horrible! The optometrist here had zero patience for children. My son would ask him a question and he would not bother to answer and instead would just say don't touch! Sit still! Maybe if he tryed acknowledging my son who was nervous for his first eye exam he would sit still! This office looks like it's kids friendly when you walk in with a toy area in the front lobby but in reality it is not at all! Cranky doctor. Then he asked me to wait outside out the examination room with my 2 year old because he can't concentrate, excuse me but no your not going to be in a dark little room alone with my son! So we walked out! Don't waste your time here, especially if you have kids. What a joke.

Very bad service. The receptionist is incredibly rude. Went there for an eye exam, went a second time the next year and they charged my insurance for another eye exam that I never had and there is no proof of me having it either. They have no explanation as to why they double charged me and why they never told me about it beforehand. Now I am stuck with a bill, does not make sense. I would say keep looking for an honest doctor and skip all the drama that comes with this place. Also husband went there and supposedly missed an appointment that they set up for him that he didn't even know about. When he went to get an eye exam they set it up, waited for him to get there and then told him that the doctor wouldn't help him and they he can no longer go there. These people are crazy and should learn customer service, professional treatment and honest business.

I used to love going to Desert Eye Care, but now the service is terrible! They dont even deserve a star ! They been " waiting " on my daughter's pre-Auth for her glasses and it has been over 3 months they don't even call you to let you know any updates . They just pick who they want to give excellent service to ... if you have healthy Families they WILL not give you the same treatment as someone who has private insurance..shame on them.

Staff and Dr. McFarland are wonderful! Even when I moved out of the area and needed a copy of my prescription after I lost my glasses - they went above and beyond. Very professional, very customer-friendly.

Horrible place! I will never go here ever again! They were rude. Refused to let me go in the room with my son which is against the law. Told me he didn't want my other kids ruining his things then said we could leave. If you have kids this place is not kid friendly and he should stop seeing kids immediately before someone files a police report for denying parents in the room with their kids! I'm sick to my stomach at how poorly myself and my kids were treated!

I have been going to them for over 7 years. They have always been courteous and professional. Please believe me!!! I am living in Palm Desert now and I still will make the drive to have them as my eye care center.

Horrible. Wasted time. I was told they had no earlier dates nor times available. Showed up for my appt and there is nobody in the store except the receptionist and doctor. Over the phone I was told $110 for an exam. $130+ for a contact exam. Price going up if you need a stronger prescription....?!?! I've never in my life heard of that. But knowing my rx isn't crazy bad I said ok. Showed up and then I'm told it will be $110 for the initial exam. And then an additional $130 for contacts exam. This was never mentioned during the initial phone call. In the end you'd pay at least $260 just for an exam?!?! Took a quick look around the store too. Not a lot of selection of products. What you see in the google photos is the whole office. Even using the word "office" seems like im over-complimenting. Prices are whack. Policies and customer service even worse. Too bad I can't give zero stars. I rarely leave negative reviews because any one customer can have a single bad experience in any given place, but this had to be shared. Save yourself time and trouble and go somewhere else.
