I took my mom in for the first time for an exam. Our entire experience was 10/10. The entire staff was welcoming and showed great customer service. Dr. Gamez-Luna went above and beyond with my mom's exam and was extremely helpful and informative. Staff member Juan was also extremely helpful with his recommendations that saved us a lot of $. We are overall extremely satisfied with my mom's visit and the service received. Thank you!
My experience was mixed, but unfortunately ended on a very disappointing note.
The first staff member who assisted me was warm and welcoming, and the technician who conducted the preliminary eye exam was professional and kind. Both made a positive impression.
Unfortunately, the interaction with the doctor was noticeably different. The doctor was curt and unfriendly, which made the appointment uncomfortable. Our previous doctor is no longer with the practice, and the change in tone and demeanor was very apparent.
The most concerning experience occurred when I requested a copy of my prescription. I was assisted by a manager (Jessica, if I recall correctly). I was there solely to obtain my prescription, not to make a purchase. Despite clearly stating that multiple times, I was repeatedly asked whether I was buying glasses. I was then asked why I would not purchase there and whether the location I intended to use had its own doctor. The questioning felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
Additionally, there was a comment made about avoiding a rug in the store due to cleaning, delivered in a tone that felt dismissive. While minor on its own, combined with the other interactions, it added to an overall negative experience.
More concerning is that both my husband and I later discovered our prescriptions were incorrect. We are now having to contact VSP to arrange new vision exams to correct these errors. This has been frustrating and time-consuming.
We had continued to visit this office because there is one staff member who is consistently kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, outside of that individual, we have experienced repeated issues, including prescription errors, delays in receiving glasses, and attempts to charge for corrections. The overall environment feels sales-driven rather than patient-focused.
Based on these experiences, we will not be returning. I regret not having our new provider conduct our exams in the first place.
I had a great experience. All staff were courteous and professional. However, I discovered the next business day that the payment required (and paid by me) should have been paid by my insurance, which was not addressed at the time of my appointment.
I appreciated the information provided me during my eye examination to update my prescription. It was very timely and helpful. I have been working with Kim at Eyeoptics for many years now and she again assisted me with new lenses for three glasses. Her assistance has not changed over the many years she has helped me --- always direct, friendly, and honest. She is the reason I only purchase Etnia frames from Barcelona. I purchased my first pair of glasses some 10-12 years ago if not longer. I hope she stays one as long as possible.
Great selection and employees. We've ordered glasses from here before with no problems. But this last time ... son (15 yrs) needed new glasses. All went well until the delivery. We ordered mid-December and it now mid-January. No glasses. We have called office twice and all we get is "we will leaving a message". Not very happy because we are going a family trip Feb. 1 and he has to wear his old glasses.
I had an excellent experience during my optometrist appointment. From the techs to Dr. Gamez-Luna, the entire team was professional and caring. Dr. Gamez-Luna performed a thorough examination and took the time to explain everything in detail, which I truly appreciated. She treats her patients with empathy and compassion, making the visit comfortable and reassuring. Highly recommend!
I recently came back after being switched to a new doctor, and unfortunately the experience has really gone downhill.
The new doctor was not friendly and told me that my vision cannot be improved at all except by wearing glasses, contacts or lasik, which simply isn't true. Simple eye exercises and diet can help slightly so that total shutdown of my question is absolutely unprofessional by the doctor. I left feeling dismissed and not confident in the care I received.
The staff also seemed unprofessional. Their attire didn't reflect a medical or customer focused environment, and the technician who did my eye dilation was extremely rough with my eyes. It was uncomfortable and felt careless.
While I was waiting for the dilation drops to take effect, I walked around looking at frames. There were several associates standing around not busy, yet no one offered to help me. For a place I've been coming to since I was a little girl, the lack of hospitality was disappointing.
Dr. Curtis used to be my doctor, and she was truly amazing. Ever since she left, it feels like the quality of care and the overall atmosphere has declined.
I'm now in my 20s and still only need glasses for my right eye, so I can't imagine how frustrating this would be for someone who relies on them for full eye health support.
I no longer recommend this place, not for hospitality, and not for reliable eye care.
It was easy, the people are great and both our Doctors were excellent. We both purchased our glasses there and it was also very quick and they had a great selection of frames.
