My first pair of glasses came from Costco . But I decided I wanted some really nice frames with a full prescription on whole lens and I got what I wanted from here! The staff are super nice and friendly plus they all top notch in my book. But... you would think spending $1000 on frames and the lenses they would last you a lifetime! Even though they tell us that we need to change our glasses every year or so. Well I started to noticed this pealing/flaking on top portion of my lens, then it started on the sides of the lens. I went in for my eye exam to see if anything changed but it was still the same. Then after the test I was showing the person helping me the problem with my lenses not the frames asking if they could replace them! And they said well it's going to cost you $500-750 for new lenses I just smiled and said okay I will think about it. Not spending that much again on something that didn't last the first time! Sooooo one day, I got in the car put on my glasses and outside looked really blurry. So I cleaned them really good but still had the blurry look, then I remembered I had my older pair from Costco in the car in case I forgot my newer ones at home. Well to my surprise my older glasses was perfectly fine and I could now see clear without the blurriness. Well the moral of my story is I took the same frames to Costco got new lenses and renewed my prescription, and everything that this optometry place was offering me for the $500-750 depending what I picked. Well I got the same package plus my bifocal ($750) added in for $160 at Costco and a guarantee warranty if anything happens they will replace my lenses!

I haven't had a great experience at this office. Dr. Richard is great but his front desk is not. I went to pick up my contacts and they told me everything was already paid for. When I was in my car, they called me saying I owed a balance of "2, 60". I went inside thinking it was a copay since I used my insurance but nope! They charged me $260 . Obviously I would have raised more questions is the girl on the phone said it was "two-hundred and sixty dollars" not "two sixty"). They claimed that they wrote on their end I did not want to use insurance?! Then after I told them I used insurance they refunded me. Really unprofessional. You should disclose charges and verify insurance before charging your patients $260. Crazy. Not coming back.

I'd like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to having such a positive and amaaaaazing experience from the moment I walked in, did my appointment and met with The Optometrist! They went above and beyond and have a AMAAAAAAAAZING Eyeglass selection. I couldnt decide! The BEST EXPERIENCE! I have officially recruited them as MY OFFICIAL EYE DOCTOR FAMILY as a New Patient as of yesterday. Thank you!

Dr. Miyamoto has a friendly and very helpful staff. Large selection of frames. They do not pressure you or try to upsell you glasses. All the Doctors are very friendly Dr. Miyamoto and Dr. Gina are always fun to talk to, overall my husband and I are very happy with their services. Claudia helped us picked couple of glasses numerous times. She is always very friendly and very helpful.

Dr. Miyamoto is absolutely amazing. He truly cares about his patients & takes the time to provide the absolute best care possible. I highly recommend him. Everyone at the office is warm, welcoming and friendly. You will also find a wonderful selection of eyewear as well.

Ditto on the other positive reviews. The staff and doctors are all super friendly, the exams are thorough and Dr. Yamamoto and his team really take care of all your eye health concerns. Once I discovered his office in Gardena 2012, I have gone there for all my exams/treatment even though I moved and now work much further away. I recommend him to all my friends and family.

Drove from Irvine because I heard nothing but great things about this place. Carolina found two frames to replace my broken ones. I am super satisfied with the quick and diligent service. It was worth the drive. I highly recommend this place.

There is a great reason why this place gets 5 stars from so many people and his name is dr. Richard Miyamoto! He has received South Bay's best optometrist award and recognition a number of time simply because he is the kindest, most compassionate and amazing optometrists with a great staff that anyone could ever find! Just a week ago I had an incident with the use of exercise therapy bands. It slipped off my foot and hit my glasses and my eye. Even though he was not seeing patients, he met me at the office with his assistant while they were doing some other paperwork and ran a bunch of tests on his equipment as well as to evaluate and provide Comfort to me as well as the needed prescriptions and consolation. He was very encouraging and thoughtful, totally professional and concerned about my well-being. He is this way with everyone with whom he works including his employees. I have been fortunate to have known dr. Miyamoto four more years than I can even figure out! I highly recommend dr. Miyamoto and his staff for all of your Optometric needs. I often see two of his long time assistance, Erina and Catalina. They've been with dr. Miyamoto for I don't know how many years but definitely as long as I've been going! Dr. Gina Nakamura is another optometrist there who has worked with Richard for decades and is absolutely fantastic and also very good with patience! I highly recommend dr. Miyamoto wonderful practice and Shop. Their selection of glass frames is incredible and you can basically stop by at any time to have things adjusted and repaired. I wish all businesses were like this! Everything is kept neat clean and sanitized. That's always a plus! You see everyone there from the very young to the very elderly, and everything in between because we all love doctor Miyamoto!
