Dr. Wes Kohtz

Dr. Wes Kohtz has been my optometrist since the early 1980's when he was in Santa Ana. I now drive up to Bluejay to have my eyes examined, and to order my glasses from him. Besides being friendly and personable, his staff has always been pleasant to work with. But what's really important is that he stays up with all of the current innovation and technology in the vision industry. I highly recommend that you seek him out if you are looking for a great optometrist.

The optometrist is entirely unprofessional and very rude. He is very condescending and did not begin the exam until 35 minutes after I arrived. The office is not clean, there is dust and grime everywhere. Worst of all, the price gouging and ambiguity on what each service is and what will be charged. They sell trial contacts in sandwich baggies and charge the same price as if they were sealed and brand new. Will never be returning and would not recommend even as a last resort.

Dr Koetz and his staff always make you feel like your eyesight is important to them. He is always willing to take a minute to stop what he is doing and help me with questions and he fixed my glasses for me. He is very thorough when it comes to determining your prescription. I would highly recommend Dr Koetz.

I would absolutely NOT recommend this optometrist to anyone! They dont give any feed back on how your eyes have improved or gotten worse. The dr is wayyy out dated and doesn't even answer questions that are asked but responds in a sarcastic rude way which makes you feel extremely uncomfortable. The staff is very friendly and sweet but obviously have NO clue what they're doing. They billed my Insurance over 3 months ago and I have yet to receive my glasses. First they got lost some how and on top of that made me pay for shipping to my adress even after I had to wait almost 4 months because they lost my lenses. So I paid for shipping stating they would mail out next day but some how didn't do that either Nd now it's been 5 business days and I have yet to receive my two sets of lenses in the mail with more excuses. I'm starting to wonder if I will even receive them at all. I have been so patient & still yet to get my glasses that I need very badly. I am beyond displeased! If I didn't have to I wouldn't even give this a 1 star.

After entering into the lobby, we were greeted by a very messy and unkempt, unprofessional receptionist and the strong odor of skunk. She was frantically trying to put our information clipboards together, on the floor. When it was time to go to the exam room, we had to wade through piles of papers all over the floor and walk by yellow bins with glasses in them, also all over the floor. The exam room was filthy and had someone's old jackets draped over nearly every chair. The place he wanted us to put our chins and foreheads to look into the machine was greasy and hadn't been wiped, I insisted that they wipe it with alcohol first. Our examinations with his machine all went fine. When it was time to choose eyeglasses no one helped us and in fact he rushed us through as quickly as he possibly could. Short of shoving us out the front door, there was no finish to our appointment. I stopped to wash my hands and then waited for our prescriptions which they refused to give us. The receptionist has horribly snotty with me and said she would not disturb him while he was with a different patient. I explained that our appointment was not done yet as we did not have our prescriptions yet and that I could not wait another 40 minutes while he saw another patient. I asked if we could please finish our appointment now and give us our prescriptions. The receptionist refused. Then Wes Kohtz refused to give me our prescriptions with a very snotty smile and said I could come back another time to get them, he doesn't have time for paperwork. Unbelievable and horrid treatment. No wonder the online reviews are so incredibly low for this office. Save your time and your frustration and go somewhere else that is professional, kind, and clean.

Amazing staff and stellar service with an exceptional amount of glasses to choose from. I was shocked at the amount of glasses to choose from. The receptionist was super nice and so was the optometrist. I highly recommend this company if you live on the mountain.

This place is very outdated and the eye dr is very rude. They take way to long to get you your glasses if you even get them at all. It's not the cleanest place either and they advertise a lot more frames than they actually have. Their selection is slim picking. Dont waste your time and go somewhere else that will actually get u what u paid for.

My name is Rebekka and I've been seeing Dr. Kotz for more than 15 years now or more, and I have had nothing but good things to say about him and the staff. They have went out of there way several for me. But I miss Rita. She was the best.
