Costco Optical Department

Today was my first time at a Costco Optometrist and it was by far the best experience I've had at any optometrist. It took 15 minutes from start to finish for contacts and glasses prescription. They did retinal image without dilation. The optometrist was extremely efficient but also friendly and explained everything. My contacts were cheaper than my old optometrist. Very pleased.

The assistant at this location was unprofessional and irresponsible. She emailed me an updated prescription with incorrect power information. Because of this, I can't order contact lenses even though I had my eye exam done here. I've called multiple times to request a corrected version--they confirmed my email address and promised to resend it by the end of the day but never did. I also followed up by email and never received a response. When I contacted the contact lens provider, they told me the doctor's office refused to approve my prescription. I paid $134 for nothing. I do not recommend this place--try another Costco or eye doctor for better service.

Very busy, 3 or 4 technicians are here, but basically just 1 or 2 are working, not professional, waiting for long time, nobody cares you

An employee at the optical store goes to lunch at 5:30 pm. Is this in violation of the employee statutes to have lunch at such a late hour or is it an employees ploy to skip out of dealing with waiting customers. Strange behavior and seems like a bit of a recurring issue.

ATTN LIVERMORE COSTCO: First off this has nothing to do with Doctor Nguyen, who is an excellent optometrist and continues to be my go to for my eye health. This review is COSTCO OPTICAL DEPARTMENT. I have attempted to order contacts through them several times and they are always late, they never notify me when they arrive, and this last order which I made WEEKS ago was never actually even put through because "the girl messed the order up" and I had to find this out when I went to pick them up assuming they would be in since I made the order weeks prior. You can't even do the one thing your there to do, how embarrassing. Costco as a whole is turning into Walmart with the expectation that I'll accept your shitty service or the times you can't even do your jobs. I'm done with Costco and will get my contacts elsewhere and pay more to ensure I always have them on time and when I'm told I will. I will never spend another dime at this joke of a company!

I came in and had no idea about the system. You have to have your physical prescription and you have to pull a number. It took my second time to find the number machine ahhaa and I waited and there was a really funny lady named Jerika there. Luckily she was the one who called my number. She made my first time go smoothly and humored me. I was super appreciative for her being personable and not a robot like some other places. I called someone immediately after I left to make a recommendation for them. Thank you Jerika for making it easy and fun.

Marian is an awesome optician. She did a great job of helping me select frames and lenses. My order was complex because I had progressive lenses and did the transitions lenses. She helped process my VSP optical insurance claim and made sure I got a discount on my second pair of glasses. She has incredible patience and will make sure you get the best value for your money. Marian and Costco are the gold standard. I do not know why anyone would waste time or money any place else.

Dr Nguyen is amazing! It's fast, easy, and he's funny, practical and really good at his job. I was in and out in about 30 min with two pair of glasses on order. Painless. Great prices!! Super friendly staff. So impressed! Thank you Costco!
