I had EVO ICL surgery at Maloney-Shamie Vision Institute, and I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience. From the very first consultation, the staff made me feel informed, calm, and genuinely cared for. They took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all my questions without rushing me. The procedure itself was smooth and much quicker than I expected. The team was professional, reassuring, and incredibly efficient. Recovery was also easier than I anticipated, and my vision improvement has been amazing. I highly recommend Maloney-Shamie. It was one of the best decisions I've made for my quality of life.

#1 Dr Shamie is the absolute best. She is beyond expert in this field.. do your research and I challenge you to find someone you feel more comfortable with (or better yet just trust this review as I trusted several of my closest friends who referred me). Not only is she the most qualified dr you will find, but she is also the sweetest . #2 the procedure is easier than you can possibly imagine. Even after my closest friends who referred me walked me through the process, I still had butterflies. On the whole spectrum of how easy or scary it was going to be, the procedure was so easy that it did not even register within those initial expectations. 30 seconds on each eye, few minutes for the whole process, felt zero discomfort and so secure in Dr Shamie's hands. Dont think about it any longer, just book your appt and do it!

I spent nearly two years researching PRK after learning I wasn't a candidate for LASIK due to a zip-lining injury a few years ago. I probably paid around $400 in consultation fees, but none of those places ever felt quite right--until I met Dr. Shamie. The moment I walked into her office, I knew I'd found the right place. 20/20 VISION for distance and 20/20 VISION for reading - this is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! I don't even know where to begin. All I knew was that I couldn't see. I was scared because my vision was getting worse. I knew my vision was bad, but I didn't know how bad it was. I finally realized it was time to see an ophthalmologist, and I went to see Dr. Shamie for a consultation. I learned that not only was I extremely nearsighted, but I also had a cataract at just 55 years old. With a prescription of -7, I couldn't even see the big "E" on the eye chart. Hard to believe, but I didn't wear glasses or contacts. My nighttime driving had become dangerous because of the glare from oncoming headlights. Reading was embarrassing, I had to hold things inches from my face, or I would have to take a picture and then zoom in. Dr. Shamie walked me through all my options and ultimately recommended a multifocal lens so I could remain glasses free, just as I had always been. The day of surgery was surprisingly easy. Even though I was scared and nervous, the team walked me through the entire process and made me feel comfortable. The moment I left surgery, my world changed. Even with my eye dilated, I could see!!! I could read street signs on the drive home that I hadn't been able to see in years. I was in disbelief the whole way home. Now, just one week later, I'm seeing 20/20 at distance and 20/20 up close. I honestly don't think I've ever seen this clearly in my entire life. It's truly life-changing. A heartfelt thank you to the incredibly talented Dr. Shamie and the entire team, specifically Wanda, Marlen, Dr. Park, and Dr. Barnes, for making this journey seamless every step of the way. The best way to describe my vision now is that it's sharper and stronger. I now have a bionic eye just like the Six Million Dollar Man. P.s. On my way home,I received a text from Dr. Shamie with a personalized video of her walking me though my aftercare instructions. That kind of care is truly top-notch.

My husband had cataract surgery on each eye one week apart, and he cannot praise Dr. Shamie enough for her professionalism, knowledge, and excellent patient care. We were especially impressed that Dr. Shamie personally messaged us the afternoon after surgery with her direct number, reviewing discharge instructions and important warning signs to watch for. This is how healthcare should be; clear communication, compassion, and guidance that helps patients feel confident and informed, especially when facing something as nerve-wracking as surgery. Dr,Shamie compare to the competition is way above par, for one thing immediately when you meet her, their is a warmth, a readiness to connect that is showing in her eyes. You feel already in good hands...that has been. a very determinant reason in choosing this doctor. You can readily tell that she loved her work, she is relaxed, and her staff also is in tune with her.My cataract surgeries were a eye opening success!..To me she is more than a doctor she is a true healer, because a true healer will alchemise its love for her work with this ardent desire to heal its patients.
