Modesto Lasik & Cataract Surgeon- Dr. Amin Ash

He's an awesome doctor. Been taking my parents to him for years!

A few years ago my daughter got Lasik surgery with Dr. Ash. The first surgery did NOT come out right. There were problems. He had to perform a second surgery. There were more problems. To this day, my daughter is still having problems with her eyes because of the surgery Dr. Ash performed. After the surgery we went back to his office in Modesto many times to see what we could do to correct my daughter's vision. However, he was very dismissive, and we knew he was done with us, and we gave up. BEFORE you go to this doctor, please do your research. Dr. Ash will do and tell you what you want to hear. Please take your time, review all the information before you go through with the surgery. Don't let your excitement clog your thinking. This is your health.

I had my surgery at this location and since I paid cash, it was done on the dirty room with Harley any anesthesia the pain was unbearable during and after surgery now that I got it somewhere else it was completely like day and night. This place sucks He's very arrogant Dr Ash, I will not recommend this place for any kind of surgery. Appreciate your eyes and run the other way. Bad surgeries occur here.

Horrible doctor Please get a second option do not let him operate or do any surgeries Or anything else he had me on 4 to 6 different eye drops 3 surgeries right eye went fully blind with my left eye started to have issues in his care every visit I can see he was getting Frustrated my last surgery with Dr ash eye got infected swollen bleeding calling him to be seen the Secretary tells me Dr. ash realeased me as a patient and if my eye continues to bleed go to emergency room until I see a new eye doctor I couldn't believe that a doctor can play with patients vision soon as visit out of town eye specialist and told him wat the other doctor said that he wish he could of seen me before that major surgery there was some other possible Procedures that we could of done. the dr immediately stopped me from using them dr ask me why was I on all them eye drops they're making eye pressure go high and low !! first thing he would want to do is some form of surgery instead of troubleshooting go to bay area or Sacramento nothing in the 209 now ow I can see in my right eye and left eye they removed any of the surgery Dr ash did and did my eye over vision in both eyes etc all there worried a bout is that mighty $

I give a one only because I really like Dr Steinberg and doctor Ash. However, everything else needs work. I have been going to Modesto Eye Center for nearly twenty years. Dr. Ash performed my LASIK surgery in 2003ish. He was phenomenal. I had my yearly check ups there for years and am currently seeing Dr Steinberg who is great. Unfortunately, my last experience there was terrible. On June 17th 2022 I was scheduled at 3:30 for my exam. I filled out all of the required documents via the link they send prior to your appointment. Due to Covid, they require everyone who passes through the gate to the courtyard of the building and checks in, to sit in the courtyard outside and wait for their appointment. They were very busy at that time of day and the only seat available was in direct sunlight. I sat there for forty five minutes on an unusually hot day for June with the sun beating down on me. Occasionally, I would pull my mask down just past my nose because I was suffocating and needed some fresh air. I would take a few breaths and then would cover my nose again. At one point while doing this briefly, this tall, thin woman with long reddish hair approaches me. She bends over, puts her face in my face, and, with this INCREDIBLY arrogant and sarcastic tone, states "You need to pull your mask up. You ARE INside ( emphasis on IN )." ( In my head I'm thinking to myself "No, I'm outside, sitting in direct sunlight in 98 degree weather. AND I've been sitting here for 45 minutes getting sunburned with a mask on!") I didn't say anything because I have too much class to cause a scene. This woman! She behaved in an extremely condescending manner, as if she were speaking down to me, a customer. She then smirks as she turned away from me, as if she enjoyed putting me in my place. THIS woman is incredibly RUDE. At this, I approached the young woman sitting at the check-in and politely explained that I have been waiting for 45 minutes and asked how much longer would I have to wait . She, confused, asked if I had been seen yet as her computer showed that I had been called in and finished the preliminary testing and that I was waiting to see the optometrist. I told her "No, I haven't been seen by anyone. I've been waiting for 45 minutes." All the while that I'm speaking to her, the thin red headed woman is literally staring me down. I told the receptionist that I couldn't wait any longer and told her that I would reschedule. I have absolutely no intention of rescheduling. I don't know who that woman was, but after that experience with her, I have no intention of returning. I have no idea why she targeted me. I was literally sitting alone, in a single seat against the wall with no one near me, minding my own business. I'm a Registered Nurse, I'm insured, I own two homes and rental properties. This woman talked to me like I was scum on the bottom of her shoe and she was clearly on a power trip ( obviously compensating for something wrong in her psyche- low self esteem? That or she is clearly a narcissist.) I'll take my business to a company that knows how to value , not talk down to, their customers. Also I will choose a company that doesn't force people to sit in the hot sun for 45 minutes outside with a mask on months after California has lifted the mask mandate. Horrible Experience!

This place has very bad service . They take a long time to get glasses . It's not a very profesional place. The specialist don't really care enough for their patients. Also they do not have any specialist that take medical . I don't recommend it to anyone.

Very professional and friendly. The whole staff is top notch and I'll recommend this place to my friends and family.

Dr. Ash is the absolute best at his craft.
