Hoping Dr Brooks retires soon. Whole family used to see him, and now none of us do - for various reasons. I was the last to give up on him... during my first visit, he was irritable - I waited a while for him to come begin the exam, and when he did, he just started without any greeting or friendliness. That was fine, but there was make-up residue on the face thing and I very kindly asked him if we could wipe it before starting... he was irritated and wiped it hastily with a dry rag. I assumed it was a bad day. But when I came back to get my contacts, he again began without friendliness. He insisted that he be the one to put my contacts in, that I shouldn't try it myself - but he was pressing on my eyeball with his finger in a way that made it impossible to keep my eye open. I tried to explain it to him. After 3 attempts, he slammed the box of contacts on the counter, told me I just wasn't cooperating, and walked out of the room. My Rx was off anyway so I had to go somewhere else - out of my own pocket since Dr Brooks took my annual insurance-covered exam. That was over a year ago -- I had moved on from that experience until last week when I overheard someone in my doctor's waiting room saying they left Dr Brooks' office crying that morning!

Very grateful to Dr Brooks and his staff. I suspected that I had a detached retina and called in a panic first thing on Monday AM. They were all wonderful. Got me in right away and confirmed my concern. Not anything they could address but referred me to a retina specialist in Medford who were able to see me same day as a result of Dr Brooks referral. Thanks for everything. I sincerely appreciate your care on all fronts.

While On a camping trip in the area, my naughty girlfriend stepped on my glasses while I was laying by the riverside. She should have seen them --she doesn't wear glasses. Maybe she should. But Doctor Brooks saved the day by repairing them for free while I went shopping for supplies in my prescription sunglasses at nearby stores. Thanks to all at Shasta Vision I could see the beautiful local sights again and avoid a prolonged conflict with my girl!

Called for my appointment and was booked out 9 months in advance as the earliest available, the office called during the pandemic to reschedule me later then closed office completely and never called me to let me know my appointment was cancelled. I called the morning of my appointment and found out they had closed till further notice. I find out from my coworker that they are open again and I can't get through on their phones, always busy, and can't get in to get glasses. Very poor customer service to locals.

Dr breaks has been my eye doctor for more than 30 years! Such a nice guy. Highly recommend
