Usually, if the first person, I come in contact with at a business, and it's a horrible impression, I would, for sure give it, 1 star, but since, this is the second time, I have visited this eye center and it has been "AWESOME", both times, except, for the horrible receptionist at Azul!!! I had the same Doc, (Stephanie Mulick) very nice and personable. The check-in was quick, plus got me in early. Angelica, was very nice and welcoming. My tester was Amanda, very nice friendly also. There is also, a nice eyewear section.

I brought both of my daughters here for eye exams and purchased glasses from their optical department. We had a great experience with the eye doctor and the assistant but where our experience has turned into a nightmare is their billing practices. After vision insurance coverage, my oldest daughter's eyeglasses were $44. I paid the $44 on September 25, 2025 as noted on my bank statement. On October 31, 2025, I received a billing statement from Tayani stating I owe $44 for her glasses after vision insurance coverage ($44 that I had already paid). November 3, 2025, I called Tayani's billing department and left a message. I ended up receiving a voicemail back stating they did not see the $44 payment I made and would be contacting the Oceanside location to rectify this. Fast forward to December 1, 2025, I receive another billing statement now saying I owe $12 in which they only posted a $32 adjustment instead of the $44 I paid. I called their billing department once again, spoke to a woman in the billing department and once again, she advised she did not see my payment. I told her I double checked my bank statement before calling and I have proof I paid the $44. She then advised she would need to transfer me to the Oceanside location optical department and if they don't answer to leave a message. They didn't answer, I left a message yesterday and have still yet to receive a call back. This has been an absolute nightmare and a headache. Especially given the fact that I'm getting billed a second time for a pair of glasses that I already paid for. What makes it even more frustrating is the lack of concern by getting transferred to the optical department from the billing department to handle this on my own and no return call back from the optical department to acknowledge they received my voicemail. After experiencing this, I DO NOT recommend purchasing glasses from them and quite frankly, I wouldn't recommend going here at all due to the possibility of getting double billed and the headache that will come along with getting things straightened out.

I came here for an annual eye exam/refraction under the Vision Care benefit of Scan. In checking in online I was offered an opportunity to get a new Optos scan for a nominal fee although it was made clear that it would not be covered as a preventive service under my plan. I chose to defer that decision until I could discuss it with the doctor and there was no pressure either way. I asked about this again on check-in when I arrived and was told that I was welcome to discuss it with the doctor. I was called back close to my appointment time and Amanda, the tech, did an efficient job of checking my vision and also explained the advantages of the Optos scan to the point that I decided to have it done (also saving me the trouble of having a dilation, always nice to avoid if not needed here in sunny Southern California). I then met Dr. Mulick and she went over the scan results with me, pointing out the advantages of Optos over the data accessible on older retinal photos. She performed an exam and spent a lot of time explaining choices available in types of glasses for various activities. She was bright and personable; I appreciated her efforts. Overall, the visit was a good experience. While that scan may be covered at some point in the future, I am glad that I had it done even though it was not an insurance benefit now.

Terrible front office!!!! The front desk service is absolutely awful. I'm not expecting resort hotel-like service from the front desk of a doctor's office, but can I expect a polite greeting or even a slight smile...? Their unwelcoming attitude is as bad as TSA at LAX. During my second visit, an accountant insulted me in front of everyone when I asked why I had to pay "non-referral's co -pay". She said, "It's different with official doctor's referral paper and just a doctor's referral." Even though I had presented a formal referral, she mistakenly assumed I was there to see a doctor without it. When I made my appointment, I had been told they wouldn't accept patients without a referral. She doesn't know their own protocol? The worst part was that the person who made my appointment was with me when this accountant was explaining things to me. When I mentioned her name, she didn't say anything even I submitted my Dr's referral to her via email. When I showed her Dr's paper, the accountant realized that it was their mistake, but she never apologize... she just stated that she will look into it but I never heard from her. Absolutely NO Sincereness. And this was on a recent visit. The front desk clerk, unsurprisingly, didn't smile and told me my appointment was canceled. She said she'd called several times to reschedule. Granted, there was only one rescheduling call. However, since I received a confirmation email and text message after the call, I didn't feel the need to call. When I asked why I received a confirmation message, they said it was an automated reminder...but if my appointment was canceled by their convenience, why didn't they update their system???? I guess contacting me once is enough to show that they took responsibility, so I guess they don't need to apologize for any inconvenience. The medical staff were all very nice, especially Dr. Joson, but the front desk clerk ruined my experience. It would be nice if they had a check-in kiosk so I wouldn't have to deal with the front office.

Giving 4 stars - Tayani was able to get me in quickly for my eye irritation, the doctor was lovely. However, the whole purpose of the quick appointment feels defeated due to an issue with my prescription. When I went to pick it up, the eye drops were missing from the script, so I called the office, had to leave a message for a call back, now here I am 2 days later, still no call back or resolution on the script, and an itchy eye. I have a 1 week follow up scheduled and won't show the progress I should be. Very frustrated by this situation.

Tayani Institute's optical center is excellent because of their skilled, helpful opticians. My mother tried having her new glasses adjusted at a couple of other specialty optical places and no one was able to adjust them comfortably. She had a pair of computer glasses that she had gotten a few years ago at Tayani Institute in Oceanside and she said those were the most comfortable glasses she had. She suggested we try their optical department because, in her experience, they did the best job. Sure enough, Linda at Tayani Institute adjusted the glasses perfectly in about 5 minutes and it made a tremendous difference in comfort and vision! Prescription lenses are important, but skilled opticians are key to the overall success of the glasses. Thank you Linda! We now know to stick with Tayani for the best result.

Outstanding Performance and Expert knowledge was shown from the moment I met the receptionist who took time to greet me before asking how she could help. The medical assistant Adriana was thorough when getting the information about my issue. Dr. Nuite was exceptional as always, her exam was through. If you want to feel special and get great eye care Tayani is the place to go.

There were some issues with my insurance properly going through and the billing team was excellent helping to resolve the issue. They were patient and helpful. They didn't pass the issue on to me to handle - we worked together and got it figured out. All of the staff that I have interacted with, have been cordial, professional, and ready to help. I highly recommend the Oceanside location!
