Dr. Yang and her team are the best! I have been going to Poway Optometry for 15 years. Dr. Yang is patient and thorough. She is great with my son. The team there is great. Caylie and Emily at the front desk are quick to respond to requests and are so helpful from everything from frames and contact lenses to insurance and scheduling. I can't praise Poway Optometry enough!
I have been going to this place for many years and it's always a very pleasant experience. From the different staff to the Dr, everybody is awesome! A++. This time they went above and beyond to fit me into the schedule because I lost my glasses. Dr Yang does a very thorough job and explains everything in detail. Efficient, knowledgeable and genuinely caring.
I would highly recommend you to give Poway Optometry a try and see it for yourself.
Poway Optometry is great! The doctor is always booked out, but I can see why. She's so detailed and takes her time with each patient and she's definitely worth the wait! I always feel really well taken care of here.
Dr Yang and her staff were amazing! They were so knowledgeable and friendly. I'm so glad I switched and highly recommend to anyone looking for a new optometrist!
Would not go here. My wife and I each visited Poway Optometry for glasses in July 2024) since they take our insurance and Lens Crafters didn't.
Initial visits went well and eyeglass selection was easy. However, when we were called to return to pick up glasses is when things took a turn.
I immediately could tell something was off. I was getting progressive lenses. When I was trying to read something, I had to tilt my head almost up to the ceiling in order to read anything. I mentioned to the employee about this issue and was told to take them home for a week or two and see if I got used to them. I already knew I wouldn't get used to them. These weren't my first pair of glasses or progressives.
After taking them home and attempting to use them at work, I couldn't make it through an hour on the computer let alone my whole shift. My wife also was having issues with hers.
We finally went back and they remeasured our pupil alignments. My wife went ahead and requested they make hers more for computer and reading, rather than a normal progressive. I failed to make this request and still wanted mine a normal progressive.
When we went back again to pick-up the glasses, my wife was pleased with having made the adjustment to computer/reading progressives. Mine were still not right. Yet, I took them home to try them for a "couple weeks."
After those weeks, I called them again and said they still were off. They asked my to come in again. (Keep in mind, we live in Escondido, and both work in San Diego. Not convenient).
Brought glasses back and they remastered again, I asked them to make them computer/reading progressives, since I really don't need glasses for distance. The rep representative was fine with the change.
After they had my glasses for a bit, the rep called me and said they need to get an authorization for the "third attemp." Then after a weeek or two they called and said the insurance company agreed to the "third attemp." Yay!
After another week or so they called me to tell me the lens company is charging for the "third attemp." I would need to pay an additional $200-300 for this attemp. Why do I need to pay for this when I had already paid for my glasses that have yet to be right???? After an extended phone conversation, I finally got it from the rep that the lens company was charging Poway Optometry for the remake and Poway Optometry was passing that charge on to me.
I have worked in customer service for decades and have never seen a company do this type of thing. Yes, I would understand if, after purchasing an item and then deciding after you "tried out" the item, you wanted to upgrade to something else, there would be a charge. But to have not yet received a working pair of glasses and now you want to pass on a charge to me because your lens manufacturer is charging? Why would I pay more money with no guarantee they would be right this time? Needless to say, I returned one last time to pick up the glasses that do not work and have been sitting on my dresser collecting dust. A very costly, close to $700 after my choice of frames, lenses, dust collector.
They then had the nerve today to send me a reminder that it has been a year (from my first visit, not a year from the two months of back and forth visits) and I am due for an exam...uhm, no thank you.
I have never had an issue with Lens Crafters, and even though they don't take my insurance, I prefer to pay extra to have my glasses usable.
I highly recommend Dr. Diane Yang at Poway Optometry. When I was looking for a new optometrist, many people recommended Dr. Yang and now I know why! She was wonderfully thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. I knew I was in really good hands. Her entire team was friendly and efficient. I'm so glad to have found her. Highly recommend!
Since childhood, I've had challenging issues with my vision. Just moments ago, I tried on my latest eye glasses prescription & frames ordered by Dr. Yang's outstanding, professional team. Dr. Yang has been extremely patient and thorough in her exams, giving me the best contact lense & eye glasses prescriptions possible to maximize my vision before needing future eye surgery. Dr. Yang & her team are top notch. I cannot say enough good things about these ladies. Additionally, this optometry center carries plenty of fashionable designer eye wear. Currently I'm loving some new, trendy Kate Spade frames!
Dr. Yang and her team were incredibly professional, kind, and provided exceptional service. I was able to learn about the health of my eyes and order new prescription lenses all within 30 minutes. I was also able to be accommodated a few minutes earlier than my appointment time so less waiting. Highly recommend.
