Valley Optometry Eyecare of Reseda

Very disappointed and I say that reluctantly because the customer service is great, the area where eye exams are conducted is very clean and well maintained, and Dr. Andy is excellent. We were out of town for over a month before picking up our glasses. My partner got Armani sunglasses and I opted for Ray-Ban prescription eyeglasses. My partner's sunglasses are fine and came with everything they should, mine did not (no manufacturer's box, no Ray-Ban cleaning cloth, or any documentation indicating they were from Luxottica). At the time, I assumed Ray-Ban may have reduced packaging and I didn't suspect anything from such a reputable optometry office. We were late to see a movie so we put our glasses on, asked for a copy of our prescription and left. The following morning while cleaning the glasses, I noticed multiple issues that caused serious concerns about authenticity and quality: * the material looks and feels unusually cheap * the frame has scratches and already appear worn * the writing on the inner temple is smudged and some rubbing off (these markings are usually engraved) * the nose bridge finish looks poorly done (cloudy rather than transparent) * the Ray-Ban logo appears flat and lacks the usual sheen I own multiple designer glasses, including pairs that are decades old, and none have ever shown wear or quality issues like this. I have contacted them and was asked to send photos. I was told that the issue was probably because of rough handling and was offered a replacement. Timeline For Clarity 11/25/2025: Scheduled appointment 11/27/2025: Text reminder to complete online registration form 11/29/2025: Eye exam, glasses ordered 12/09/2025: Text notification, glasses ready for pick up 12/31/2025: Received an unusual "this is a test" text message (instead of a pick up reminder) 01/09/2026: Received a birthday greeting (instead of a pickup reminder) 01/10/2026: Picked up glasses around 3:30pm 01/11/2026: Closed on Sundays 01/12/2026: Contacted office, sent photos, replacement offered 01/27/2026: Got a text today, replacement frames have arrived I do not believe the owner would risk selling counterfeit frames, which is what makes this situation even more concerning. I'm writing this review to bring this to the owner's attention. Given the long delay between order completion and pickup, and the condition of the frames, I am concerned that the frames provided were not the original frames ordered (swapped) especially with everything else missing. Receiving what appears to be a worn and inauthentic pair from a reputable optometry office simply does not make sense. It's unacceptable. I will edit this review and share the outcome once I get the replacement. I have reported the issue directly to Ray-Ban. If the replacement does not resolve any of my concerns, I will pursue formal complaints through appropriate consumer protection channels. Photos taken the day after receiving the glasses. I had an amazing experience at Valley Optometry Eyecare. From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Dr. Lazo is highly professional, thorough, and patient--she took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel completely at ease throughout the exam. The office is equipped with advanced, modern technology, which made about 90% of the eye exam automated and very efficient without feeling rushed. A special thank you to Manny, who was wonderful in explaining my insurance benefits and helping me choose the right glasses and contact lenses. Overall, the experience was smooth, informative, and pleasant from start to finish. I would highly recommend Valley Optometry Eyecare to anyone looking for an excellent eye doctor and outstanding customer service.

Went in for my contact renewal prescription and new glasses prescription. Very friendly staff. Location is clean and looks very modern. Technology they have for the eye exam is very top of the line. They had a nice selection of glasses frames to choose from and really cool features of adding the darkening lenses in the sun with different colors. Would definitely recommend to others.

I appreciated how patient and professional everyone was, especially when answering my questions about frames and vision changes. Overall, it was a comfortable, positive visit and I'd definitely recommend this office if you're looking for thorough care and a friendly environment.

My experience was much better than previous appointments I've had. The doctor was very kind and welcoming. She took the time to talk with me about my eyes, listened carefully to all my symptoms and concerns, and did not make me feel dismissed. I truly felt that she cared. The reception process was quick and efficient, and I did not have to wait. When choosing my lenses, the associate assisting me was also very friendly and helpful.

This location is beyond a fun experience. Thank you all so much, I got my vision back to when I was younger and the crazy thing is I really had no idea what I was missing. My Dr was amazing at making me feel like I was someone who needed help and she had the time and empathy to get me better. So happy that I found you guys and loved the fun and comfortable experience the clinic provided. So blessed to have a Dr who discovered my stigmatized life and improve it. Such a blessing thank you soooooo much.

This place is great!!! I usually don't give reviews but this place has great service and qualified staff. I arrived early and they got me in and out in a timely manner. They spend time with you and explain the overall health of your eyes and any vision changes since your last visit. The other staff is excellent as well. I give this place an AAA+++. I highly recommend them

Had a great experience! I got attended fast, the optometrist took her time to review my results and made sure all my questions were answered before I left. The whole staff was very professional and friendly. When it was time to pick out my frames the gentleman there informed me of any discounts/sales they had plus gave me information about what my insurance did and didn't cover. Honestly will be returning to this location because of their over the top customer service and knowledge. Thank you !
