Dr. Grand is the best ophthalmologist in my area. He is kind, knowledgeable and very caring about his patients. His staff, including the optical department is very friendly and compassionate. I highly recommend him for your eye care . AND the restrooms are very clean and actually have hot running water

Terrible experience just attempting to schedule an appointment. I was told expect a call from the facility in regards to my referral back in April, then in May I got a call stating they hadn't made any attempts to reach out and I should attempt to call them. I called four times prior to finally reaching a staff member to schedule an appointment, the staff member immediately had an attitude when she picked up the phone. I advised my reason for the call and confirmed the imaging I had done to be seen. The staff member got snippy and stated she couldn't see my imaging in my chart via Epic which was false as all sutter doctors use and upload to Epic, my imaging has been made available to myself and all my doctors via Epic or else they wouldn't be able to see them. When I advised it is available in my chart, she snapped at me stated i'd need to contact them to fax it to them. Which is not the way the situation should have been handled, normally it is the facilities job to reach out. I requested we schedule the appointment anyways as i've attempted call multiple times and could not reach anyone and she refused and pointed out an issue with me referral which again was an issue they should contact the doctor to resolve. She then asked me if I needed to see a neuro-ophthalmologist or a regular one, I informed her I didn't know but I assumed as my issues are in regards to neuro matters and imaging. When I expressed concern about how this process was being handled and stated she couldn't not hear me and I advised that I'd contact my doctor and she proceeded to hang up on me.

Dr. Grand is great. His office staff are less than knowledgeable on how to inform and treat patients. I was scheduled for surgery for 2 months with no communication except for the initial call to set up the surgery. I called multiple times to talk with the surgery scheduler and she never returned my calls. I was informed by the surgery center the day before surgery that they can't do it because of my weight. If I had known this 2 MONTHS AGO I would have worked harder on my weight loss. After it was cancelled NO PHONE CALL from the surgery scheduler even 2 weeks later. Don't go here if you need surgery until they get someone more competent.

Had my yearly eye exam yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with the amazing office remodel. I almost thought I had gone to the wrong office. Dr. Grand and his staff are always friendly and helpful with any questions I have. My mother had eyelid surgery two years ago and is still pleased with the results.

I was having issues with double vision. I saw Dr. Grand in 2024 and he wrote a prescription for prism lenses. I ended up spending $895 on glasses & sunglasses with the new prism prescription and continued having issues. When I was able to finally see another doctor, they said that Dr. Grand had written the prism prescription wrong. Now if I want to have the correct prism rx put in, I will need all new lenses. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but this is extremely frustrating and insurance will not reimburse me for any of it.

He is the best eye doctor and surgeon in California! Very helpful, and great manner !

Dr. Grand is without a doubt the most competent, caring and and knowledgeable ophthalmologists I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. He is there to answer every question, treat with care and refer if need be. Adding to this he is a very gracious human being, I would readily refer him to anyone who is looking for excellence.

I would recommend Dr. Grand and his entire staff. They are all very kind and professional. Dr. Grand not only diagnosed a.rare eye disorder I have but very promptly got the ball rolling for getting it corrected. He also called me four days after my appointment with him to give me further information about my disorder and share the reason why he wanted to change the order of the two surgeries I am to have. He was concerned about the discomfort I had been in for 5 months and wanted to see me get some relief before going through the second surgery. I appreciate his concern and prompt care on my behalf.
