Nakamoto Marvin OD

I am SO glad I found Dr. Nakamoto since moving to Sacramento last year. I've already seen him twice since moving here and both times he was attentive and seems to really care about my eyes. I have double vision so its really important for me to see a provider that cares to make sure it does not get worse (knock on wood, x3) and my eyes are okay. Thanks Dr. Nakamoto! Looking forward to my next visit.

I was extremely pleased with my experience with Dr. Marvin Nakamoto. He explained how contacts work in a way that was really easy for me to understand. His staff was also very patient with me. I was taking a long time to learn to put contacts in, and the technician (I'm not quite sure of her title) was extremely patient with me. When it was clear I was having more difficulty than the average patient, and it was past 5pm, Marvin sat down to help me. After watching me put them in incorrectly, he explained what I was doing wrong, why it had to be done a certain way, and a two tips on how to do it properly. Just like that, I got it the very next try. He has an incredible knack for explaining things. Despite taking so long, the both he and the technician reassured me that I was doing fine.

My Name is Marvin Crongeyer, I have been a loyal client for over 20 years now, and it is with a sad heart that I am choosing to leave. Unfortunately, over the years the staff has become unbelievably inept. Recently, they didn't return calls when they were supposed to, and they were rude when I finally did speak with them. Scheduling has been a nightmare, and they claimed I didn't have insurance when I did. Dr. Nakamoto is an outstanding professional, and I hope he acquires the staff he needs to support him.

I went to Dr. Nakamoto after I had a vitreous detachment, which can lead to a retinal detachment. I was quite worried but he put me at ease right away and gave me far more information on what to watch out for, etc. than the ophthalmologist under my health plan did. I recommend Dr. Nakamoto to all of my friends and coworkers.

A friend of mine recommended Dr. Nakamoto and since he was conveniently in Midtown at the time, I decided to go. Midtown is no longer a convenient area for me to go venture to, but I still made the long trek from the 'burbs to get a check up because this guy is that good. He explains things to you as to why you'll eventually need reading glasses. Sad fact, but true. Or the subtleties of Lasik surgery. Or how Latisse works (but he can't prescribe it). Or what the optimal distance is between your eyes and the computer screen. His calm, radio DJ voice will guide you to finding the perfect prescription for contacts and glasses and there is no such thing as a stupid question. He gets booked out pretty quickly, so call now if you ran out of contacts and don't wait until the last minute like me where I was down to my last pair.

Dr. Nakamoto is the best. I've been a patient of his for well over a decade and it's a pleasure working with him and his team.
