Loma Linda University Eye Institute - Pediatric Clinic

There was no advance notification that my appointment was canceled. I did not receive any phone call, voicemail, or MyChart message. The only notification I received was an automated reminder around 8:00 AM on the same day, telling me to arrive. When I arrived, I was still able to eCheck-in. Only after arrival was I told that the appointment had been canceled because the doctor was sick. What makes this especially confusing is that other patients were still present and being seen. If the doctor was unavailable, it is unclear why others were not canceled and why I was only informed after arriving. The front desk also claimed that a message had already been left for me, which is not true. This reflects a serious lack of accurate and honest communication.

Had the worst Experience today! My appointment was at 12:50 But was advised to be there by 12:35 so I definitely was. I literally sat in a room with my one year-old for more than an hour and did not get to see a doctor because unfortunately, I have other children that I have to to pick up from school. Medical students kept coming in saying the doctor would be in shortly and then when they would speak to me about my son's condition They would look at each other and ask each other if they needed to be taking notes. Why go into a room and ask questions if you're not gonna note down what is being asked, my son was showing signs of stress And was being very fuzzy. One of the medical students said I couldn't come out because the doctor had to come in. At this time it was 2:20 PM and I decided to check out because I had been at this place for Almost 2 hours and was not able to see a doctor. When checking out I tried to reschedule and the lady did not offer me a reschedule. All she said was either I check out or see if I was next.... I was very upset because everybody who came in after us had already left. We were almost the last ones there. Why schedule people at a certain time if you're not gonna get seen At the time you were scheduled. I totally Understand that it takes some time but two hours is crazy specially for infant or toddlers. The nurse who had helped him Even put a movie on for him, and when One of the med students came in she turned it off, which made my son even more uncomfortable...

They are thorough and kind. My kid has gotten exactly what he needs here.

I called and spoke with Sonia. I'm looking for a pediatric ophthalmologist. Although she wasn't rude she wasn't friendly. As I asked questions about their office she made me feel that I was bothering her. If this is how they speak to perspective patients I can only imagine how they treat their patients. To give her the benefit of the doubt maybe she was having a bad day?

I been also trying to get my daughter Deen for 6 months and they always say they are booked 6 months in advance so to call every day to see if there's anything available. I understand her doctor left but seriously you guys don't have any other doctors. I don't understand how you only have 2 doctors. Loma Linda was about children before but now it's all about money. No longer about care or the patients but rather the numbers and money. Sad and disappointed.

I pray God helps my daughter be seen as I was on the waitlist for 6 months and was removed because she is a "new patient" yet my daughter is visually impaired. My daughter has over 6 referrals and she is not even 2 years old but for some reason she can't be seen at this hospital. So sad how babies born with low vision get no help or maybe it is because I am IEHP no one cares about me or my daughter. Don't help me HELP my BABY please.

They are worthless, thankfully my child was referred somewhere else (actually much better hospital) because of their refusal. I hope they shut this place down its practically worthless. Well once the lawsuits start pouring in I can't image them staying open much longer.

HORRIFIC SERVICE. I called to make an appointment for my daughter and after waiting on hold for over 15 minutes, someone takes all my information then proceeds to inform me that they have no appointments available to offer me as their pathetic providers are booked out for 6 months. I'm sorry, what is the point of having a clinic where patients cannot be seen. I'm appalled that I live in a country where reaching a specialist can take several months for something that can be considered urgent. We are always told about the horror of socialized medicine, how is this any different? If you literally cannot see a specialist and then have to pay top dollar to be seen on top of insurance for that privilege. It really is disgusting that they would turn a 5 year old away because they are too lazy and cheap to hire more providers. It's even more appalling that this place collects money from the state.
