Outstanding experience here today. I had a bit of an eye emergency and looked around for a doctor available to take a look. I literally called every eye doctor/ clinic around, and with no surprise- most appointments were being booked two months out, and nobody could see. me. SCEC had also been booked up, but Dr. Tran very generously offered me a spot right at closing time, and I was able to be seen. He was delightful, as was all of the staff I'd met. I don't have eye care coverage, and knowing that I'd be paying out of pocket, I'd asked every office I called how much an eye exam with the ophthalmologist would cost (not optometry). Out of everyone I'd asked, SCEC had been the most reasonable @ $250 (as of Feb 2026). I'm very grateful that I found my way there, and appreciate how kind everyone had been to squeezed me in for an evaluation. I'm a fan.

Five Stars for Dr. Tran's San Carlos Eye Care! Dr. Tran is part eye doctor, part Jedi. The man doesn't just remove cataracts--he vaporizes them with laser precision and sends you home seeing in 4-K HD. His office looks like NASA's vision lab, and his staff--the Rainbow Crew--are polite, professional, and brighter than a bag of Skittles. My wife Jenny joined me for the big vision test, and yes, I passed with flying colors. One of Dr. Tran's team checked my mysterious black "floaters" (not the plumbing kind), while Jenny got her own good news: eye pressure back to normal! Her smile had 20/20 wattage. Dr. Tran isn't just a doctor; he's an artist with precision and passion. My wife is a nurse at one of the hospitals he's affiliated with, and first-hand, they all love Dr. Tran. He's the guy everyone trusts when eyesight's on the line. Now I see sharper than ever--I call it Trans-Vision. Dr. Tran didn't just fix my eyes; he tuned up my world. Healthy eyes are his passion, and my outlook's never been clearer. Thank you, Dr. Tran--you turned my lenses and my life brand-new!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting San Carlos Eye Care, and it was truly the best eye care experience I've ever had. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Dr. Amy Lee was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough during my eye exam. She explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. I really appreciated her attention to detail and the time she took with me. I also want to recognize Dr. Ninh Tran, who kindly helped me on a separate visit when I had something lodged in my eye. He was gentle, patient, and made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier. Overall, San Carlos Eye Care goes above and beyond. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care and a team that truly puts their patients first!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Nary Chun, O.D. and her entire staff. From start to finish, the service was professional, kind, and very thorough. Dr. Chun carefully measured my eye lenses and conducted a detailed eye examination, taking the time to review my vision and check for any possible physical eye issues. She explained everything clearly and patiently, which made me feel very comfortable and confident throughout the visit. The staff members were also welcoming, attentive, and efficient, creating a great overall experience. I am very satisfied with the care I received and would highly recommend Dr. Nary Chun and her team to anyone looking for knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate eye care.

I'm very disappointed with this business. I have been going here for my eye glasses since 2020. I have brought them more business encouraging my family members to go there. 1st incident: My mother-in-law got a cataract test and she has a hard time hearing and is ESL. During the exam, her doctor was very impatient and rude and kept yelling at her to look at a particular thing. The doctor also lost his patience with my husband for being on his phone as he waited for his mom to take the test. She came home and said she would never want to go back there again because they talked to her as if she was dumb. 2nd incident: I have gotten 4-5 pairs of glasses/sun glasses here over the years, and I ordered eye contacts for the first time late last year. When I did my vision test last year, we learned that my prescription did not change from the year before. The first time they tried to teach me to wear my eye contacts, I had a hard time and it did not work out, and the soonest I could schedule was today. Between this time, I brought my child there to get tested and to buy his first pair of eye glasses. When I brought my son, I saw the doctor and she said I could schedule to learn to wear my contacts anytime I'm free. She did not tell me I had a cut off date. Today was the day I asked if I can get it scheduled. They told me I had to pay again because it was more than 3 months since I placed the order and I was past the cutoff date. I suggested we can use my annual visit this year, but they said they can do that but needed to charge me $60 again to get the contacts test. I told them i Just want to learn how to wear the contact and bring them home because I've already paid for them, I don't need another test for the contacts. It feels like they just want to charge extra even if I've already paid for the contacts and I was willing to use my annual exam visit to learn how to wear them. It's a shame how inflexible they can be after being such a loyal customer for so many years and bringing them so much business in the past.

Great experience overall. Rare facility where the doctor shares his contact info in case of any urgent questions. We didnt even have an appointment but they accommodated us on a last minute ask with a short wait. I wish all practices work this way and are interested in patients' care. Dr.Tran is awesome!

My husband and I both had our vision checkups here and couldn't be happier with the experience. Dr. Lee was wonderful--patient, knowledgeable, and very thorough. She carefully evaluated our vision changes and helped us choose the best options for both glasses and contact lenses. The staff was also fantastic--very attentive and supportive, especially when helping my husband find the right frames. We felt well cared for from start to finish and would absolutely recommend this practice.

Great! Appointments start on time. Staff are knowledgable, polite, and efficient. Dr Lee is incredibly personal, makes sure I've got time for all my questions, and fills me in with all the details.
