Bui Duc OD

I've had a great experience at this optometry office in Evergreen, San Jose. Dr. Bui is extremely knowledgeable and approachable, and takes the time to explain things clearly, which I really appreciate. Amy, who runs the place and is behind all the admin, is truly a standout. She's super friendly, incredibly helpful, and clearly knows the business inside and out. Their selection of glasses and frames is excellent, ranging from designers to top brands and if you're looking for something specific that's not in stock, they'll go out of their way to try to source it for you. They've been around for a long time, and it shows in the level of care and service they provide. If you can, work with someone like Amy, she will make sure your eyes are well taken care of and that you're doing it in style. Highly recommend.

Iove the staff here! They are the key to thier success. The variety of glasses and name brands they offer are exceptional.

I would give this place and this doctor 0 if I could. They are careless for their patients. 1. Long waiting time even no patient there. I arrived the place to see Duc M. Bui before the appointment time. There was no other patient before me and after me. The place is almost empty. But I had waited for one hour and passed the appointment time they schedule for 30min, I still didn't see the doctor shown up. 2. Only one equipment for automatically testing prescriptions in this place vs. other doctors have at least 4 equipment for checking your eyes. They have only one eye exam machine for checking your eye prescriptions. Usually, other eye doctor's office has multiple equipment for basic eye exam, such as eye prescriptions, eye pressures, testing eye side vision, etc. also test your old glasses for your previous prescriptions. This place didn't check anything about whether your eyes are health and your previous prescriptions. 3. Duc M. Bui is not professional. He gave me wrong prescriptions. Dr. Bui used only 5 min to finish to see me. Basically, he just did verify the prescriptions the machine gave. When I asked him what was changed in my prescriptions comparing with my previous one. Dr Bui said "he doesn't care what is my previous prescriptions (my current glasses). He doesn't want to know them. He only did current one. He told me that I don't have astigmatisms. I asked why my astigmatisms are disappeared? I feel my astigmatisms could be worse because I could not see well during driving at the night. Dr. Bui answered: "he has magic". What?! That is not professional at all! He didn't explain the prescription and not answer my question. I have to see another eye doctor because I have a lot of concern about the prescriptions Dr. Bui did. The other doctor exam results proved Dr Bui is wrong. I have worse astigmatisms. I would like to share my experience. hope the above can help other patients.

This Optometrist store contracting the Dr. Bui only for eyes exam. Dr. Bui has no clue about frames and lenses for patients. Only the office manager Amy who is so incomplete and not really friendly when you come back and try to have her taking care of defective frames and lenses which is still under guaranty, she will blame on you rather than fixing it. Her staff has no experience in term of adjusting frames. They only know how to charge insurance to get money.

generally incompetent; when frames arrived, optician did not take the time to properly adjust the frame for our daughter. We had to bring the frames to lens crafter for proper adjustment. The optometrist does not communicate his findings clearly and seemed uneasy when answering questions regarding opthalmic findings. Overall, quite unprofessional, disorganized staff and a very unpleasant experience

Phone calls during "business" hours never answered. Office closed randomly without any sign on the door. Published hours on Google are wrong! Optometrist didn't take the time to properly answer my questions and rushed through the exam. The only bright spot is his assistants were helpful when you waited for your turn.
