Scheduled an appointment for my toddler and myself. The place is clean and spacious. The front desk can appear a little cold and rude. Also, charging 75$ ahead of the actual service rendered is unfair. So it's unclear , if the prescription is needed , for which they charge. In my daughter's case, prescription wasn't given , but still they charged the 75 and it's unclear. Also I was told to address a critical condition, which scared the hell out of me. So I had to get multiple consultations done to cross check the diagnosis. I will not be recommending this place. 2 stars is for easy scheduling and no wait time.

Dr. Vu is thorough, attentive. She took the time to carefully examine both my kids and us as parents, explaining everything clearly with a caring, detailed oriented approach that made the whole visit feel reassuring and well handled.

I recommend California eye surgeon to get you eyes checked for your kids or for adults. Nice office. I have known Dr Kaur since 2014 in her office in Los Gatos. I went to see her for my daughter who was 2 at that time. She became our Ophthalmologist. Doctor Kaur and Dr Vu are great doctors. Both very knowledgeable and very nice and staff are friendly. The office is well equipped. Dr Vu is so sweet and nice with kids. I moved out of Cali and still manage to come see Dr Vu or Dr Kaur once a year. I hope I can still do it. I recommend 10/10.

We are happy with Dr. Vu, who is patient and knowledgeable. Her check is very thorough. This 1-star review is to the billing department/front desk. My kids had an annual eye check (my insurance needs to pay a copay of $75) in late December 2024. During the eye exam, Doctor Vu. suggested dilating the pupil to have a thorough check. However, right after the eye exam, my son would have a sports game to play, and he couldn't dilate his pupil. Doctor Vu. was understanding and did all the checks without needing to dilate the pupil. She also suggested that we come back next time to get the pupil dilated and checked without paying the copay. After the visit, we made a new appointment in early Januray this year. After the 2nd visit, we received a bill of $203. The clinic billed my insurance company, and since we hadn't met the deductible yet so we had to pay everything out of pocket. I called the clinic and explained the situation and what we were told by the doctor that we didn't need to pay. The lady on the phone was very rude and unfaithful said this could not have happened and blamed us that it is common sense that every time someone visits a doctor, the patient has to pay. I told her that the doctor particularly said we didn't need to but got the reply saying "doctors don't know about billing things. you should not listen to doctors". The doctor is from their clinic, and if the doctor and the billing office has a misalignment and provided wrong information to a patient, why will the patient has to be responsible for all the cost??? I told the front desk, if we knew we had to pay for $203 before the 2nd visit just to check the pupil which my son didn't have symptoms (just for a yearly rountine check), we would not have done so. They didn't even tell us before the 2nd visit that we needed to pay, but just to bill my insurance. This place is very unprofessional. I think their billing department needs improvement. I shared this experience so that if you happen to have a similar situation, please double/triple check the cost of the service you are going to receive, how they will bill insurance and etc. We don't like surprises like this.

Dr Vu has been my Dr for sometime now. She is an Excellent Dr, full of knowledge and insight. She has never rushed through an appointment. She always takes time for my questions and makes sure I have an understanding before she's finished with the appointment. She really listens to you. I'm blessed to be in her care. Dixie Huston

I visited this office for an eye exam after being referred by my primary care doctor due to eye pain when moving my eyes. Before scheduling, they asked for my insurance information, which I provided--Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. When I arrived, they suddenly claimed my insurance was a "student plan" and insisted I pay upfront, saying they would submit a claim later and refund me the difference. Confused, I called my insurance company, who confirmed that what the office was saying made absolutely no sense. My plan does not have a deductible for in-network visits, and this office is clearly listed as in-network on the insurance company's official website and documents. Additionally, the office incorrectly claimed I had a $250 out-of-network cost, which is irrelevant since they are in-network. When I asked the office to speak with my insurance company to clarify, they refused. Instead, they said, "Pay or leave." The front desk staff was unhelpful and rude, claiming students don't pay their bills. This is not only unprofessional but feels like clear discrimination against students and possibly others based on race or occupation. The experience was frustrating and disappointing. If you value respectful service and transparency, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Dr. Vu and the staff at California eye surgeons is excellent. Dr. Vu is very thorough in her examination and goes into a lot of detail. She makes sure all possibilities are properly investigated. It was easy to schedule appointments and the staff was very helpful in making sure the prescriptions were available and the instructions were clear (Thank you Nick!). The billing was also done correctly and lady at the front desk was very prompt in sending me all the receipts. Thank you Dr. Vu and team! We will be back soon!

I have worn glasses for 62 years and my eye health and vision have gone through some changes during the last 4 years. Dr. Vu has treated me during this challenging time and the clarity and sharpness in my prescriptions she provided for my glasses were the best I've experienced. Dr. Vu's examinations and corrections are very thorough and she has helped my vision at all levels, much better than I thought was possible. I have found Dr. Vu's ability to stay on top of my vision changes impressive and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a skilled optometrist for all optical needs, including special cases.
