Dr. Craig S. Bindi, MD

I underwent a Refractive Lens Exchange procedure at Laser Eye Center East Bay.During the surgery, I heard an error code on the machine. When I asked about it, I was reassured that it was nothing to be concerned about. One week after the procedure, I raised concerns to Dr. Bindi about blurry vision in the treated eye and again asked about the error code. He dismissed my concerns, assured me it wasn't an issue, and recommended proceeding with LASIK to address the problem. Trusting his guidance, I agreed to the LASIK procedure. Unfortunately, my vision showed no improvement afterward. When I expressed my ongoing concerns, Dr. Bindi suggested we "give it time." As my vision continued to deteriorate, I sought a second opinion from another ophthalmologist. I learned that my vision loss, which had worsened to 20/60, was directly caused by an error during the original procedure at Laser Eye Center East Bay. Specifically, the lens replacement had been placed in the wrong "pocket" of my eye. This error led to significant vision impairment and increased eye pressure. Correcting the mistake required removing the misplaced lens, but despite this corrective surgery, my vision remains 20/60, and I am unable to read with the affected eye. Dr. Bindi saw me multiple times after the surgery but never acknowledged the error that caused these issues. By failing to disclose what went wrong, he not only failed to address the problem but also betrayed my trust by omitting critical information about my care. This experience has left me with permanent vision loss and an erosion of confidence in the medical professionals at Laser Eye Center East Bay.

Dr. Craig S. Bindi was the best! Not only did he do my SMILE Lasik surgery, but he also did my husband's PRK surgery about 4 years ago! After seeing for my self how life-changing the procedure was for my husband, I finally decided to go for it and called the Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley for a free consultation. It's now been a week since my SMILE procedure and I am beyond happy with the results! It's still such a surreal experience to be able to wake up and see clearly without having to reach for any glasses anymore--it's the best! From the initial consultation to the actual day of my procedure, Dr. Bindi and his staff explained everything and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. The staff is super friendly and professional. From the moment you walk into the office, you are greeted with smiles from everyone, which makes for a great experience! The office is also very beautiful. They recently remodeled and it makes for a very inviting space. Procedure: The day of my lasik surgery I was nervous, but the staff was very nice and comforting. They put numbing eyedrops and you don't feel a thing! I was most nervous about the laser doing its thing on my eyeballs, buttttt guess what? You really DONT FEEL A THING! You see a green light that turns into a laser and Dr. Bindi walks you through everything along the way in a way that makes you feel okay every step of the way. The procedure itself was less than 10 minutes, if that (about 3-4 minutes per eye) and I was able to walk out of there myself! BOTTOM LINE: If you are on the search for a laser eye surgery facility or you're unsure if you might be a candidate for lasik, I recommend you to check Dr. Bindi and his staff out!

Dr. Bindi is an amazingly talented, personable, and kind provider. I was extremely nervous but his staff was very kind and Dr. Bindi went out of his way to check on me before the procedure. He spoke to me during the procedure to explain what he was doing - which I greatly appreciated. Woke up to amazing vision (could read 20/20 line at my post op check up!) and even enjoyed watching World Cup matches sans glasses/contacts. Getting LASIK was such a great decision and especially under Dr. Bindi and his team's care. Highly recommend! Dr. Bindi is the best!

I purposefully waited several years to write this review because I wanted to make sure that everything was truly working as expected before I chose the number of stars I'd give. Here I am 2 years later and my "laser eyes" are still crystal clear. I can see stars that I never saw before (even with contacts) and I'm halo-free with lights at night. I got the wavefront no-blade LASIK. I figured eyes were one of those things you should go all-out for. I chose Dr. Bindi because he has more procedures under his belt than just about anyone else in California. He also has the most modern machines money can buy and a whole grip of pro athletes trust him with their eyesite (and their careers, for that matter). I went in for my initial appointment in the morning and by early afternoon my procedure was done. I don't know if this timing is typical, but that's how it worked out for me. Because I came from out of the area, I checked in to the hotel across the street so I could come back for a follow up in the morning. Dr. Bindi spent as much time as needed to answer all of my questions. I never had a sense that his time was more valuable than my peace of mind - meaning I never felt rushed and I continually felt like I was a valued customer. To be clear, I'm not a pro athlete or a movie star, I'm just an ordinary dude that used to have really bad vision. At the end of the day, getting this surgery was one of the best choices I've ever made, and I believe Dr. Bindi and his team were the key to my positive experience. If you're planning on getting corrective eye surgery, I highly recommend you consider Dr. Bindi and crew.

It took two decades and a lot of convincing to get me to consider lasik surgery. The procedure itself took less than a few minutes and the healing process was smooth and painless. It's now close to two years since my surgery and my vision has been stable! One of the best investments I've made in my life!

Great doctor and staff, dealing with dry eyes for years and Doctor Bindi has me on a plan that I believe will resolve my dryness and blurry vision. Couldn't be more impressed, will definitely send everyone I know whose looking for lasik to see him.

I am giving 1 star as I cannot give any lowest star than that. The worst experience ever I had with the ophthalmologist and doctor. I'm a worrier and I was terrified of having LASIK and then going blind. I explained to him that two doctors Scott Ivyer and patel suggest me not to do LASIK , He told me I will be fine , they're aggressively selling that i should do it. I reached there at 9.30 I have to wait for the half hour to see the doctor . After Post Op I'm not able to see from right eye clearly , I'm in so much pain. They're not letting me talk to the doctor which just sucks. Honestly folks don't waste money and time over here.The service is poor and they are there to swallow your money and destroy your eyes so that patients can come again and again to them. Just be cautious.Choose Wisely

I should have posted this in 2009. Dr. Craig Bindi did my Lasik and 13 years later I still have 20/20 vision. Thank you!
