Dr Yang is a remarkable clinician. From the very first appointment, he spent all the time I needed to do the eye exam and explain the procedures as well as the options that I needed to consider. He's both friendly and professional. I had total trust in him. There was never any rush and I believe he totally wanted me to be happy with the final outcome and I was.
His office staff were a real pleasure to interact with. Appointments were easy to make and everyone was more than happy to help with any issues that came up along the way.
If they didn't have an immediate answer, someone always got back to me. I highly recommend Dr Yang as a very professional ,friendly and skilled ophthalmologist
Dr. Yang did my LAL surgery on both of my eyes. At 72, I am ecstatic. I love the outdoors both ski and mountain bike. I can see details like nothing I can ever remember while wearing glasses or contacts. Dr. Yang took the time to explain the entire process, the risks associated with the surgery, and the likely outcomes. I am delighted that I opted into this procedure.
I had both eyes done at the same time in order to avoid additional downtime and it was fine for me. We recently did the first of two locks after he adjusted the lenses post surgery, My final lock is in a couple of weeks. My vision for distance is better than 20/20. My ability to read the computer text on my monitors is fine and I know longer require readers.
I am not just satisfied with Dr. Yang and his team. I am overjoyed. Thank you for enhancing the quality of my life. It is gratefully appreciated.

Dr. Yang is hands down the best eye doctor I've ever had and I've seen many over the years. During my very first visit, he spent a full hour thoroughly examining my eyes and told me the story behind my eyes that I didn't know. After I got home, he personally called me to share additional insights he had discovered.
I went ahead with the surgery he recommended, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you, Dr. Yang, you're truly an inspiration. I appreciate you more than words can say!
I had cataracts in both eyes and Dr. Yang put in new light adjustable lenses in summer 2024. 18 months later, here is my assessment:
Pluses:
+ Dr Yang is very articulate, smart, and experienced and clearly keeps up on the latest developments and has a huge body of patients to be able to draw his advice from
+ He was also patient in answering my detailed questions and spent as much time as I wanted with thoughtful clear answers, honest and straightforward
+ when I developed a cyst behind my retina 16 months after surgery, and went to a retinologist he recommended, that doctor confirmed that the cataract lens had been implanted "perfectly" and that the cyst had nothing to do with the earlier surgery by Dr Yang
+ some scar tissue which grew over one of the lenses over the ensuing 15 months (which I had been counseled could occur before the surgery) was expertly removed easily by Dr Yang, clearing up some of the slight vision fuzziness and allowing my eye to have potential 20-25 vision (well above target)
+ when needed I was able to be squeezed in on short notice into his calendar
+ the physician assistants were always friendly, efficient and competent
Minuses:
+ I have more floaters in both eyes after the surgery. This was warned about as a possibility before the surgery and I am doubtful much could have been done to avoid that
+ the nurse's aide at Peninsula Eye Surgery where the cataract lenses were put in was a little too lavish with the pre surgery disinfectant in the eye, causing some lasting discomfort
In short, I would continue to see Dr Yang and recommend him to others, knowing that I would have a deeply experienced, transparent, accessible, and well informed expert who did a great job on both surgeries, as validated by an independent specialist.
I had a cataract surgery to fix Glaucoma for both of my eyes a year ago. My eyes are quite complicated, high power astigmatism, hyperopia and presbyopia . It is Dr George Yang who was able to restore my eye sight and now I don't need to wear glasses. I followed the advice from Dr Yang to use Light Adjustable lens and now I can go and wear the Ray-Ban pilot sunglasses without prescription which I can never dream before. Thank you Dr. Yang
I called this office to make an appointment for my right eye which has suffered severely degraded vision as of late, and I felt extremely disappointed to hear that the earliest available time is sometime in next February. However, they can see me earlier, a lot earlier, if I need a cataract surgery.
From the conversation I had with a person on the other end, the ophthalmologist seems far more interested in fast, high revenue cases than in providing balanced, patient-centered care.
It was frustrating to feel like my time and health were treated as an afterthought simply because my issue was not a "money maker." Three month wait for a non-urgent but still important eye problem is unacceptable, especially when the office clearly has a different standard for patients whose conditions bring in higher reimbursement.
I understand that clinics must run a business, but prioritizing profit over people is not something I'm willing to support. I will be seeking care elsewhere - somewhere that values all patients equally, not just the ones with the right diagnosis codes. I wonder if he still remembers the Hippocratic oath he took...
Vision in my right eye was nonexistent. Only colors and light. Night driving was overwhelming with rings and blinding light coming from headlights, stoplights and streetlights. My optometrist said I needed cataract surgery. I was nervous. I researched for the best ophthalmologist. I found Dr. George Yang highly recommended. I reviewed each lens type on his website. I carefully checked that my AARP Medicare G was accepted. Then I met Dr. Yang. He was gentle and caring. We got right to business. I ordered the expensive Light Adjusting Lens and treated my eyes with Cequa to reduce dryness. I followed instructions for pre and post operation eyedrops carefully. My cataract surgery itself was like a day at the spa. Now the rings are gone. Night driving is back. Right eye vision is 20/20. I am so thankful for Dr. Yang's skill and caring manner. I am thankful we have such excellent equipment and lens types that restored my vision back to 20/20 painlessly. I am pleased I chose the expensive Light Adjustable Lenses. Having vision restored is amazing.
Outstanding experience with my new lens. Dr. Yang is 2 for 2 with me now and my vision has never been better! I particularly appreciated the great counsel on lens selection.
