Clean, modern equipment. I didn't feel rushed when asking to repeat options. Showed up a little early with my current glasses and was out the door in less than a half hour. I came in after getting an incorrect prescription somewhere else a few months ago. Luckily medi-cal allows you to see another Dr if your having an issue with your new glasses. At the end of the exam Dr Lao compared the new prescription to my current one and there was a huge improvement. Pretty sure she nailed it.

Dr. Kelly Lao is extremely kind and good at her job and I always feel welcomed and respected in her office. Being a young girl, I often feel neglected and brushed off while visiting the doctors office, but Dr. Lao takes the time to listen to your concerns and discuss any questions you may have. The ladies at the front are also so sweet and go the extra mile to take care of you, and they always squeeze you in :) I highly recommend!

Kelly, demonstrates a commendable level of care and attentiveness. Unlike the rushed experiences at some other clinics, where eye exams are completed within 10 minutes, Kelly takes the time to thoroughly evaluate our vision and medical history before proceeding with any tests. Her humble and approachable demeanor ensures we feel comfortable throughout the process. The staff at the front desk are also excellent communicators, making sure our visit is pleasant and seamless. In addition to the professional service, this clinic boasts an impressive selection of eyeglasses. Kelly goes the extra mile by providing personalized recommendations on frames and lens options that would suit our needs best. She also transparently informs us about insurance coverage for each item, demonstrating a commitment to patient education. Overall, I would highly recommend this optometry practice. The combination of Kelly's expertise, the friendly staff, and the wide array of high-quality eyewear makes this the ideal destination for comprehensive and personalized vision care.

Had A Great Eye Exam Today. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The optometrist took her time and explained the process while also keeping me engaged in my check up. Definitely Recommend this office. Ms. Lao and her staff are the best.

I have been with Dr Lao since end of 2016/early 2017. My family has very strong medical history of glaucoma and I picked Dr Lao specifically because of her expertise in this area. I am very particular about this, and I given I had just moved to the country, I knew what I was looking for. From the first visit until today (2024), I can stand by Dr Lao's professionalism and experience as my eye doctor. She is by far the best eye doctor I've had who works with integrity and ethics. She does not use patient-doctor relationship for her business benefit nor for once attempt to convince me to spend more than I should. I have since recommended friends and even bring my mother (who was visiting) to get glaucoma tests, eye test, prescription, etc. Everyone that I recommended has since stayed on with Dr Lao with no issue. Granted, you wont get any fancy branded frames here. Practical, quality, and precision. I wear prescription glasses and contact lens most of my life. So i know when a doctor has experience to get it right the first time. Pretty disappointed to see other reviews. Thought I'll share my experience here. Also worth mentioning, all the staff who works/worked with Dr Lao are amazing -- you can't work for a bad boss.

I was sadly displeased with Dr. Lao's professionalism and being under her care. I would suggest you not go to her if you are a medi-cal patient because you absolutely deserve to be treated with the same care, respect and compassion that she lacked to give during my first visit and will absolutely be my last. She examined my eyes and immediately assumed I had a mild case of glaucoma but ran a test that thankfully, my medical insurance covers for, then only later to find out after conducting the test that her assumption was indeed inaccurate. Had I not pushed back, asked for further clarification and stated I'd go to a different doctor to get another perspective, I would have blindly followed her advice.

Dr Lao has been my optometrist for a few years now so decided to come in today for a contacts fitting. I've had an unsuccessful fitting prior. Well I don't remember much from last time other than Dr Lao was very unhelpful and impatient throughout the whole process and lo and behold the same happened today. Throughout my eye exam to check prescription everything was good, made small chitchat etc etc seemed like it was going to be a pleasant appointment today. Well when it got to the contacts fitting it was like a switch and all of sudden Dr Lao just sat and watched me struggle. She gave me basic advice at the start on how to get the contacts in but other than that stayed silent and offered no feedback. Just sat there and stared. Was asking for help or tips but kept repeating same thing over and over again like I was stupid. 5-10 min go by and she says she has another patient, so she takes the mirror and contacts and sits me outside to try putting them in. Keep in mind I was given no feedback or alternative methods to putting lenses in Eventually she finishes up with patient and comes outside to bill me. $15 copay for eye exam which is fine but then $55 copay for contact "fitting" making total bill $70. Quite frankly $55 is ridiculous price for getting a pair of contacts and sitting with patient for 5 min watching them struggle and offering no guidance throughout process Needless to say I will not be coming back RE: I'm perfectly aware there are other patients to service. If you need to make time for other patients then go ahead and schedule bigger time slots for appointments. You're forgetting that although my appt was scheduled at 2:45, you had me in the waiting room till 3:10. So its not exactly like you're prompt with servicing patients anyways. After eye exam, it was 3:45-3:50 or so (closer to 3:50) meaning you only gave 10-15 minutes MAX of your "professional instruction". So my point still stands. Lastly, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel with putting contacts in. The fact of the matter is, if you're not going to be patient and offer guidance when a customer is struggling then yes. I will resort to other methods of putting contacts in, instead of hearing you repeat the same thing over and over again

Love this clinic! The staff is professional and Dr. Lao is just amazing. Will continue to come get my exams and glasses from here!
