Dr. Nathan, as he calls himself to make communication easier than the pronunciation of his last name, was highly recommended to me by my long-time ophthalmologist. My field of vision was impaired by low eyelids. My first visit was a real confidence booster. His receptionist/assistant Rae, was exceptionally helpful and friendly getting new patient info filled out. Dr. Nathan was very low key and friendly in his manner. He ran several tests and listened to what I wanted, and didn't want, in the way of surgery outcome. The surgery itself was just what I asked for. I chose not to have anything other than a local anesthetic, and the surgery went very well. On a follow -up visit several weeks later just to review the results, I mentioned that I was still having some trouble with double vision resulting from the cataract surgery. He had several prisms that he showed me as I read an eye chart, and sent a suggestion to my ophthalmologist that helped getting that corrected. I have since recommended
him to a good friend who was also pleased with his results.

Dr. Nate is amazing. He's kind, skilled, patient, and a lovely man. I broke my right orbital bone about 15 months ago and was referred to Dr. Nate by my ophthalmologist. At the time, he advised me how to handle the changes that might occur in and around my eye. We decided that surgery wasn't needed and he said I was good to go! Fast forward to last week when I decided to return for a checkup because I thought my eyelid had become more droopy over time and was occluding my vision. He checked and found that to be true. So now, we begin the process of getting that problem fixed. I am glad it's Dr. Nate. I trust him to advise me and to carry out whatever we decide to do. If you need work on your eyes within his specialty, I highly recommend you visit him.

My experience started with ringing the doorbell at the back entrance, Dr. Nathan answered the door and was kind even though I was at the wrong entrance. The receptionist was friendly and quickly helped me with the electronic paperwork. Dr. Nathan's exam was informative, he explained why my eye was drooping and what needed to be done. I was impressed.

What an excellent experience I had getting my eyes checked. I was referred by my optometrist, who felt the issue was beyond his scope. Doctor Nathan took time and had interest and concern and offered me solutions. I am so pleased to find a professional who loves what they do and has skill to diagnose and offer non aggressive solutions. My symptoms resolved quite quickly based on the recommendations that were made during our visit. My second visit was even more impressive. My wife had an after eyelid surgery follow up appointment with Dr Nathan. The surgery is very successful and my wife is very happy with the results. During the vision test, Dr Nathan found out that she lost partial vision for her left eye which was not the eyelid surgery related. After the further diagnosis, Dr Nathan identified the cause of vision loss was due to retina bleeding. Dr Nathan immediately contacted a retina specialist and made appointment to see a doctor right away. I drove my wife directly from Dr Nathan's clinic to Hillcrest Retina Center, where she was diagnosed as branch retinal vein occlusion by Dr Jain and had the treatment done accordingly. The bleeding happened less than 2 weeks because she just had vision test 2 weeks ago without any issue. If she noticed the vision loss by herself, it might be too late. She might not be so lucky without Dr Nathan's immediately action. Thank you very much Dr Nathan! We strongly recommend Dr Nathan at Coastal Lid and Orbit Experts as a needed provider.
