Made an appointment before Christmas for January 6, 2026. The office was closed the week of Christmas and new year's. On Monday 1/5/26 I received a text saying they had to move my appointment because THE DOCTOR WAS OUT OF TOWN!!! I told them to forget it. Very unprofessional and inconvenient.

Stepped on my glasses and had an earpiece almost perpendicular to its usual position. Took it to Dr Stuart, and he was able to fix them. I was not a patient of his, and he didn't even charge me. I'm so grateful!

Excellent people. I came in today with an emergency situation and they did what they could to make sure I got new glasses. Started a new job and didn't want to be blind while I'm training. I came in at 230 pm and they had my glasses readythe same day.

This practice has been making my husband get an eye exam every time he gets contacts which is approximately every 6 months when it is only require once every 1-2 years. He has no eye conditions that would require him to get eye exams that frequently. I told him was he was doing was unnecessary so he called and asked to get new contacts without an exam. They said he would need an exam. He told them he did not need one as he had gotten one 6 months ago and they told him they would not order contacts without another exam. He then asked for his prescription so he could get them elsewhere. They told him it was ILLEGAL to give him his prescription. Per the Federal Trade Commission the Eyeglass Rule requires eye doctors -- ophthalmologists and optometrists -- to give patients a copy of their prescription -- whether they ask for it or not. It's the law. He called Donaldson's and Walmart and both places confirmed that he did not need an exam and they were required to give him his prescription. He has been on the phone with them on and off all day and they are still refusing to give him his prescription. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS "BUSINESS". Not only are they charging their customers for unnecessary exams they are withholding information that we have a legal right to. We will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

We were on vacation early June 2019 at New Melones Lake. My son accidentally dropped his prescription glasses overboard, and of course I did not bring a back-up pair this trip. I found Dr. Wallace Stuart on Yelp and Google. I called them after I was able to get an electronic copy of the prescription. The office was able to tell me over the phone they had one lens with the correct Rx and the other was close, not 100%, but better than no glasses at all! They also looked for frames that would fit my son, otherwise it made no sense to go if they did not have both frames and lenses! One of the ladies even sent me several pictures of the frames they did have so my son could make sure he would even wear them! We were able to get to the office about thirty minutes before they closed and Dr. Stuart was able to fill a new pair of glasses for my son. Even though the new lenses did not have the auto sunglass coating, he was able to see about 90% better than without any glasses! Thank you Dr. Stuart and (unfortunately I forget the two ladies names) who were so helpful over the phone and inside the office!

The entire staff and Wally where great. They made my 15 year old daughter and I feel at home. From Robin at the front desk and Wally making my daughters eye exam a sure delightful experience.. And Susan where they had her pick out some frames. The team had my daughter with prescribed glasses where she could see again walking out the door ln less than 30 minutes!!!!!!! Amazing team work. Awful people!! TERRIBLE! If you have to reschedule, get a different prescription, or question anything, The receptionist susan will be very mean, the doctor will also be rude and most likely not satisfy your eye needs. I can't believe they are still in business with the way they treat people. If you have to go here because you only have a certain insurance, you could try to go to Oakdale Vision, she is amazing and available! Or if you can get new vision insurance like VSP just do it! DONT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, especially if you're a sensitive and compassionate person.

I have been coming to Dr Wally for 4 yrs .Him & his wife Susan are amazing!Even fixing my glasses same day in an emergency when my frame arm comes off several times.These were 10 yr old glasses.They are the sweetest & will stay late as I work 9-5 M-F so I can make my appointments.Highly recommended as your eye Doctor.
