Dr. Steven Downs

Dr. Steven Downs is a top class eye doctor and as great of a guy as you should ever be lucky enough to meet. I've now had multiple eye injuries that were extremely painful, debilitating, so much so that I didn't know if my sight would ever recover. I was quite aware however that I was not qualified to self treat the problem. Growing up in Villa Park I knew right where to go. I didn't have an appointment but I walked in at 9am (when they opened) along with two others who did have appointments. I checked in, and sat down. Dr. Steven Downs walked out to greet his appointment, and saw that I was in rough shape and really struggling. He told her he was going to get me fixed up really quick and that would be right with her. She was very generous and happy to oblige. Within a matter of 2 minutes I was feeling great. He numbed my eye which was immediate relief, injected dye to inspect it under magnification, flushed it out, checked it again, ordered me some eye drops and sent me on my way. It may have been the start of another day in the office for him but from my shoes after hours of failed attempts to flush it out on my own, being wide awake the whole night in constant pain, unable to see, holding my eye open for hours in an attempt to avoid further damage, considering the thought of losing my sight and not getting to see my kids grow up, it was a terrifying feeling. For Dr. Steven Downs to prioritize my pain as walk in over someone who made an appointment and show up on time for their appointment really meant the world to me and I greatly appreciate that. He's so good at what he does, that I was in and out of there in minutes and driving home to get ready for work which I couldn't have imagined before I walked in. I'm very thankful for the friendly professional staff and the very talented Dr. Steven Downs. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of an eye doctor. He's the best in the industry and a truly commendable caring person. You won't be disappointed!

I recently visited Dr. Downs and he did a great job explaining to me what I need to do to maintain my sight. His staff was friendly and they really made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process.
