DLV Vision - Westlake Village

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about DLV Vision and the exceptional care I received throughout my entire cataract evaluation and treatment process. If you are considering cataract surgery, this is absolutely the place to go. From the very beginning, my experience was outstanding. My initial consultation with Diana Andre was not only informative but incredibly reassuring. She took the time to explain every detail, answer all of my questions, and help me understand my options without ever feeling rushed. Her professionalism, expertise, and calm, friendly manner immediately put me at ease and set the tone for the rest of my care. She even reached out to me after the surgery to check in and make sure everything went well, which I truly appreciated. My pre-operative appointments with my surgeon, Dr. Dougherty, were equally impressive. His confidence, precision, and clear communication made me feel completely comfortable moving forward with surgery. The Westlake Village office, where I had my initial consultations, is run with remarkable efficiency -- the front desk team is welcoming, the technicians are knowledgeable, and the environment itself is modern, spotless, and genuinely pleasant. Even though the wait times were short, it was refreshing to be in such a well-organized and inviting space. I opted for cataract surgery with premium lenses and laser-assisted technology, and I could immediately tell that this advanced approach made the procedure smooth and seamless. On surgery day, everything at the Thousand Oaks surgery center ran like clockwork. The staff there was absolutely amazing -- professional, warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. From the moment I walked in, I felt cared for and supported. They explained each step, made sure I was comfortable, and created an environment that felt calm, efficient, and reassuring. Being in their dedicated surgical facility instead of a traditional hospital was a major advantage, and it made the entire experience far more comfortable. I was in and out within a few hours and felt completely at ease throughout the entire procedure. I was even able to resume work later the same day. The results? Truly life-changing. The clarity, color, sharpness, and brightness of my vision are beyond anything I expected. I can read, work on my laptop, and see both near and far without glasses -- something I haven't been able to say in decades. Night driving is easier, signs are clearer, and the overall quality of my vision feels like I've turned back the clock 40 or 50 years. I am genuinely thrilled with the outcome and deeply appreciative of the entire DLV Vision team. From Diana Andre's thoughtful and thorough consultation to Dr. Dougherty's exceptional surgical skill -- and the incredible staff at the surgery center -- every step of the process has exceeded my expectations. Earlier this year, in the spring, I had cataract surgery. I must admit, I was very nervous -- the idea of eye surgery was quite intimidating to me. But I was fortunate to be in the hands of true professionals, and by that I mean not just one person, but an entire team. The surgery was performed by Dr. Chen, and I am extremely pleased with both the outcome and the entire process leading up to it. Although it was a stressful and emotional experience for me, everything went perfectly. The result is outstanding and, importantly, has stood the test of time. I would especially like to highlight the work of Diana Andre. From the very first day I contacted the clinic, she guided me through every step. She provided all the necessary information about the surgery, the lenses, the insurance, and many details I knew nothing about as a patient. She also clearly explained what I needed to do during the preparation period and after the surgery. I truly believe it is no exaggeration to say that it was largely thanks to Diana that I felt calm and confident throughout the entire process. I always knew I could ask her any question and receive a clear, comprehensive answer. Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care brought me comfort -- and even a sense of positive anticipation. Now, almost a year later, I remain absolutely delighted with my "new" eyes. I look back with nothing but warm and grateful memories of the clinic and the wonderful team of professionals who work there.

Dr. Biro came highly recommended by my eye doctor when I told her I was interested in getting an eye-lift after having Bell's Palsy a few years ago. It's been 6 months now since my blepharoplasty with Dr Biro. I am very happy with the outcome, it's very natural, and can't even tell I had anything done, which is the point! He was terrific from the initial meet, knowing exactly the approach he wanted to take with me. The actual surgery went amazingly well. I was so nervous of course; he was so professional and the anesthesiologist was super comforting. I hardly had any pain after, bruising was very minimal. I was back to work in ten days with hardly anyone noticing I even had anything done. The staff is very nice, but I do have to mention Diana by name, the patient counselor. She is truly wonderful. She helped a lot with explanation of aftercare, everything with my insurance fiasco, and even months later she was so helpful to me, and even remembered me. She is a great asset to the team.

I am reluctant to post any negative reviews, but after my recent experience with DLV Vision I feel I have little choice, since I suspect others may be experiencing the same issues. I have called and left messages to connect to the office manager to discuss this but have never received a call back, in spite of repeated efforts. Here is my story: I requested a prescription for eye drops on November 16th for a Canadian Pharmacy, since their prices are about 15% of what I pay at CVS. The pharmacy indicated they would contact my doctor's office to request a prescription but suggested I contact the doctor as well to see if it could be expedited. After a few days, the pharmacy indicated to me they had not received the prescription; aI called and sent another message and placing a call and being assured that I would get a call back by the automated system (it appears that no one listens to the messages left on the automated system nor do they call back). On November 21st Rachael Barrozo sent me an email apologizing for the delay and assuring me the prescription had been faxed. I waited a couple days before following up with the pharmacy and they still had not received the prescription. After some additional calls and emails, as of November 30th the pharmacy had not received the prescription. After additional calls and additional messages I received an email from Gabrielle Mora on December 1, stating that the prescription had been faxed. I allowed two days and called the pharmacy again, and was again told they did not have the prescription. The pharmacy suggested that I get a copy of the prescription and send it to them so I could be sure it was handled. I again called and emailed the Vosoghi team to say that I need a call back to discuss the best way to get this prescription handled, and suggested they email me a copy of the prescription so I could send it to the pharmacy. On December 8th Alex Lara communicated with me and said he was sorry it took so long, but no one at DLV had let him know about the issue with my prescription. He then emailed me a copy of the prescription. He was very helpful; unfortunately the prescription he sent me had the wrong strength of the medication on it and it could not be filled unless corrected. I then sent an email and called and left a message indicating the problem and requesting the prescription to be corrected. I never received any call back, nor email nor was I contacted to discuss what I needed. On December 14th I again called the office and and left a message since no one answered the phone. I never received a call back after leaving this message, so I later called again and got a person who took down the information about my issue and tried to get to connected to the office manager. After a long wait I was told the office manager is in but is not picking up the line. I requested that she leave an urgent message for the office manager to call me back before the end of the day. The person on the phone indicated that she escalated the priority on a message and assured me I would hear back from someone before end of day. By the time I had a chance to call back the office was closed and I had not heard back from anyone. The next morning I received a message from the pharmacy that they had received the prescription and were processing the order, and then later I received a revised prescription from Alex via email, with no explanation, only the prescription attached. The bottom line is: 1) It took from November 16 until December 15 to get my prescription to the pharmacy. 2) It appears to be impossible to get a call back from anyone at DLV, but especially not from anyone in authority. 3) I wonder whether anyone in management cares or if it is in fact that management is the problem? 4) Since after repeated requests to speak to someone, that has yet to happen, I regretfully have decided to post this review in hopes that it can come to the attention of someone who cares enough to address the many failures of customer service my experience demonstrates.

I am currently recovering from ptosis surgery I had from Dr. Biro a few days ago. He and his team were excellent, efficient, and understanding of my concerns. My recovery is going much quicker than expected and would highly recommend DLV to anyone needing eye or eyelid surgery. Diana Andre specifically was super helpful and made me feel overly comfortable and at ease before and after surgery. She helped with communications to my insurance company as well which we all know can be a headache. 10/10 would recommend DLV and please ask for Diana -- she will take care of you!

The doctors were nice. But the staff was not communicating properly . 3 days before the surgery they cancelled it due to machine issue. And later they completely cancelled my surgery all together and refunded my money. And it was almost impossible to get the surgery and patient coordinator to talk to. They respond after days. I have to find another doctor's office for my eye surgery which will take months.

I previously had a procedure with Dr. Dougherty several years ago and recently returned for another consultation. Unfortunately, my experience this time has been disappointing due to ongoing issues with obtaining my medical records. Despite multiple requests from both myself and my optometrist, my records have not been sent. My optometrist has attempted to contact Dr. Dougherty's office several times, and I have personally reached out on numerous occasions, without resolution. This has been extremely frustrating, especially since I am currently experiencing eye issues and my optometrist needs these records to properly treat me. I hope the staff can take patient requests more seriously. Releasing medical records in a timely manner is a basic responsibility, and delaying or ignoring these requests, particularly because I chose not to move forward with a second procedure, reflects poorly on the practice.

I just had my first visit so it's difficult to have enough to rate a doctor I've only seen once. I did feel comfortable with him and the time he spent to review my problem and to communicate with me. It was also great to confirm that he is a highly rated doctor (4.7) by U.S. News & World Report.
