I followed Dr Lee here. I seen him in his other office in the SB area but I was conveniently in the valley and i decided to see him on a weekend. That costco parking section is crazy!
Type of care: i just needed a check up since it's been two years, it was short and sweet.
care quality: very straightforward and makes it very simple to follow directions. My eyesight was literally the same so i guess that is a good thing since i am blind as a bat especially at night. I was curious about getting contacts and his staff was very patient with me practicing on their sample box of contacts.
office experience: overall it is amazing. I just wish they were more in a non busy area with more parking but that how it is in the valley.
verdict: great office and great staff.
Its Costco, so its pretty much self service after your appointment. I had my prescription from my eye Dr and tried on frames until I was sure what I wanted. I appreciated not being rushed by a sales person. Once I made my choice, the staff was very accommodating and I love my glasses. Really don't understand the negative reviews.
Not sure what's going with this department
Telling you that might i not gonna get the service because the kind of glasses you have
I gave them 3 glasses frames
And for each one of them they told me most probably they're not gonna do it because the lab in San Diego not service all kind of glasses
So....
I received all my glasses frames
On time
Btw the new hub is amazing
Don't listen to the employees that working there
maybe they just don't like their job
I had been searching throughout a San Fernando Valley to get an eye appointment and was facing a 1-2 months wait. I was in costco and noticed their Optical Department which I knew in the back of mind existed but never really acknowledged, BUT today was different. I plunked down and picked a number which was called immediately. The eye staff informed me that eye appointments were book solid for a month but advised me to see if their had been any cancellations with the optometrist onsite. I poked my head into the office and asked of I could do a walk in. They smiled and informed me that there was a cancellation that very moment and took me in for the eye appointment. Took all of 10 minutes to get my current grade for my glasses. I walked out to the and eyeglass displays and picked one out. Pretty nice selection of generic and designer frames. Within two days I got my prescription easy peasy! Service was great prices were totally reasonable! Getting my next pair here.
I was helped by Celia Gomez at the Woodland Hills Costco Optical Department with getting my new glasses and lenses. Celia was incredibly knowledgeable and precise in measuring my new frames, and she was very patient in answering all of my questions. She truly does a wonderful job--I really appreciate her excellent service!
I've had consistently poor experiences at the Costco W.H. Vision Center -- and it's not just about the outdated, limited frame selection. The real issue is the conduct of the manager, John Broccolo. He's consistently patronizing, condescending, and unprofessional, creating an uncomfortable and hostile atmosphere. Rather than helping in a respectful way, he responds in a tone that feels like he's undermining your intelligence. Unfortunately, the staff follow his lead -- concerns are met with minimal effort, rudeness, and a pinch of sarcasm instead of real professional demeanour (specifically Pedro and his smirk). I hope Costco takes a serious look at leadership and service at this location's Vision Center.
I visited a female Dr at Costco woodland hills with a sever eye infection, paid $130, she told me it is not infected and is just allergy she prescribed me anti inflammatory drops, the next morning my eye was worse so I visited a male Dr this time at the same place, he said it is not infection just get into your car and go to UCLA so they can look at it and figure what caused it!!!!!!! I got into my car and called a friend of my who is a Dr as well in the other state, she asked me few questions and saw some pictures of my eye and prescribed me some antibiotics, she said it is an infection and you need antibiotics immediately, after taking the third antibiotic capsule my eye started getting better fast!!! so it was an infection not allergy, never go to that place again and waste money
First off, the receptionist was very pleasant, as was the technician who did my initial screening. However, Dr. Chen's bias was clearly showing once I stepped into the room with him. The first thing he told me was that I had declined long distance prescription lenses the last time I was there even when I could clearly see on the screen that not only hadn't I done so, but it wasn't even recommended. Only after a few minutes with him did I realize why he had set that up. After the eye exam that he didn't seem to like my responses to he apparently believed that I was lying to him about what I felt looked better "number 1 or number 2" he finally said, "I'll take your word for it." The holy grail of passive aggressive phrasings with the subtext of "I don't believe you." Then, he proceeded to hard sell me on the idea of progressive lenses only to move past that right onto contact lenses when all I really needed was to know what reading glasses level I was at. He wore his frustration on his sleeve when I didn't think I needed contacts. I have no complaint about seeing far away. I am clearly far-sighted and yet he tried in several different ways to get me to try contacts. He finally sighed with an "Oh well" and curtly wrote my eye prescription.
