I have been going to My Eye Doctor, formally named the Eye Gallery in Broomfield, for many years and have always received highly professional service! Gurpreet, the optometrist, Racine, the manager and Terrence and Dennis have always welcomed me and treated me so kindly and fairly! They have gone above and beyond, in many cases to accommodate my needs!
Everyone here is so kind. They are very knowledgeable and are happy to answer any questions. I was there three years ago and I am happy to say that I will continue coming here for future eye needs. And a big shout out to Racine for being so kind and helping me out getting the right glasses. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Very disappointed in the ethics and moral compass of this business. We parked near this store to eat at the Eat Restaurant, in the disabled parking area. When we returned, we found this car (see pic) parked in the unloading zone for wheelchairs. The car was also blocking the ramp to the wheelchair, making it difficult to navigate around. I went inside this optometrist office to ask for a sheet of paper to leave a note on the car. An older, little man with white hair, round glasses, and a possibly German accent (I think he might be the optician or possibly owner; it was unclear; he's in one of the pics) popped out of the back office. When I asked politely for a sheet of paper, he hesitated. "Why do you need it?" He asked. I explained to him that someone had parked in the disabled unloading zone. He got out a piece of paper, but wouldn't hand it over. Picked up a pen as if he was going to write the note for me. I replied that I already had a pen and I needed paper. That's when he admitted it to me: "oh, that's my car." I had him walk out with me so that I could show him what the problem was. I was being rather nice about it, but the problem here was that he kept saying things like "Can I see the wheelchair? Why do you need this space? Do you not have enough room to unload? I was just popping in and then coming back out."
That's when I became upset. I pointed at the lines on the pavement, an indicator that no one should park there. I told him that my husband is quadriplegic, and doesn't get to simply pop in and out of his ALS. He looked at my husband several times and said, "Well, let me see." I had to force him to move his car from this spot. He argued with me until I quiterally had to MAKE him move. He had this bewildered look on his face as if I was some crazy Karen. "Why are you so upset?" He asked, after having argued with me over his entitlement to this not- parking space. I do not normally go about taking pictures of people in this manner in public; however, I found this behavior disgusting, and quite frankly, ableist.
It is illegal to park on the diagonal lines. It is also illegal to park in a disabled parking spot without a disabled placard. It does not matter that my husband is quadriplegic or any kind of disabled--that is not for you to decide.
In addition, it is morally abhorrent to suggest that you are somehow entitled to park this way just because you are "popping in." His sun visor was on the dash, a clear indication he had every intention of parking there all day.
The website of this business also has a special page dedicated to "accessibility" and say that they "respect the dignity and independence of our guests." In addition, there is no way to contact anyone or reach out to an owner. I would have written this privately to see how it would be handled, but since there is no other way to get in touch with them, I'm left with this option.
An "I'm so sorry" would have sufficed.
Sincerely,
Melanie Harmon Barrow
What a great experience this morning. I was the first appointment of the day. The technician was covering from another location because the regular technician called in sick. Let me tell you, Chelsea was amazing. So calm and friendly. She had not worked at this location before and never made an excuse. She figured everything out and was never flustered. The eye doctor was also easy to talk too and explained every step of the exam. I called at the end of the day to finalize my contact order and Racine was very helpful and kind.
It was our first time in and the entire staff could NOT have been nicer or more knowledgeable. Our doctor was excellent, extremely thorough, and so personable. She did not rush through any part of our exam and took the time to make sure she answered all of our questions. This place is a true gem-highly recommend!
I LOVE the Colorado Eye Gallery. I always get the appointment times I need for the family and the doctors are all great. I am especially thankful that I get to work with Raecine (Regional Manager), as she provides world class customer service and has the consumer in mind when helping pick out glasses. My family and I always look forward to our eye exams.
Keep up the good work!
My husband and I came in for the first time and we were so impressed. We had a fantastic experience at Colorado Eye Gallery. Raecine was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Dr. Alper was thorough and she took the time to explain everything to me. I felt completely comfortable and well cared for. We highly recommend this practice!
Today I walked into this store looking for a solution to my progressive sunglasses. While the store couldn't help me with a purchase, they still took the time to adjust what I was wearing in order to ensure I could feel comfortable. It's easy to service a paying customer but to go over and beyond and service a stranger walking in, that says a lot. Thanks again
