DO NOT GO HERE!!!! ZERO STARS!! The people who work at the front desk were so incredibly rude. First they tried to sell me $800 reading glasses that I could buy at Walmart for $10.00. They pushed the sale hard even though my vision was nearly perfect, I just needed cheap 1.5x readers. Then they refused to help with communication between their office and the eye surgeon's office to confirm they had sent paperwork correctly when I asked them to, since they never sent it in the first place. They acted like it was not their job or responsibility to ensure communications were correct between offices. When I went back to discuss my concerns the front desk woman became very defensive and raised her voice at me and refused to listen to my concerns. I told them I was never coming back to their business and she shouted "GOOD" as I left. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I've never been treated like this at a medical office, it was really unbelievable.
Dr. Ash, Cari and the team at Eye Care Management are an incredibly kindhearted, patient- oriented, diligent healthcare crew. In the many years my dad and I have received their care, they have been thoughtful and skilled in getting us the best fit for glasses and contacts. When my dad passed away, I brought his frames in and the team helped to get my prescription lenses into his frames as a token of remembrance. When I received my dad's glasses they had carefully included his original lenses separately, a gesture that I will treasure forever. What really makes this practice so special is their care for each individual and attention to detail that goes above and beyond eye care.
Charge way too much and Dr. Ash has a policy in which he refuses to work with you on prescription needs for glasses or contacts after 60 days from an appointment. Tried my new contact prescription, didn't work for my eyes at all, my dad went into the hospital on a ventilator for 2 months, didn't matter. Plus I was never informed of this 60-day rule. They refused to help with my prescription unless I paid another $250 for a new appointment. I am no longer a client of this office.
Writing this to agree with other reviews that the experience with staff is unacceptable. Zero Stars.
Specifically, I must address the unprofessional conduct of Cari, who identified herself as the manager. On multiple occasions, this person has engaged in argumentative behavior as I have had two eye exams from 2023 until present, with both interactions from her being very rude.
Furthermore, I was informed by Cari that direct communication with Dr. Ash regarding concerns of mistreatment and requiring a reimbursement for contacts I never recieved would only be permitted upon payment for an additional eye examination. Paying for another eye exam out of pocket would be the only way to speak with Dr. Ash;
If this policy is indeed standard practice at the establishment, it effectively creates a barrier to lodging complaints with the optometrist, as all such matters appear to be filtered through this individual.
Cari had lied to my face about making multiple attempts to contact me, and began talking over me and being verbally combatitve when I was trying to explain my situation. After leaving the office I provided an email showing proof from my phone company the call history disproving her statements. This contentious behavior is hurting the office.
Its disheartening that a great optometrist has these issues with staff treating patients with disrespect.
I know we are very limited due to our small town and the options here and unfortunately I choose eye care management to have my eyes checked but the 3 times I have tried to be there I have gotten Covid and I'm very sick as it right now, well today I got a recorded message, from a women named Carrie threatening me because I was so sick I was never able to call and excuse myself, and when I did CARRIE and the "Manager", dare to say to me that she didn't even care if I was in a car accident that I should have call even from the hospital.
No empathy absolutely no respect and I would not recommended anyone on Durango or who ever lays eyes on this place to never go here, for being a manager she is very rude and unprofessional. If I could give no stars I would!!
Wow! The service here was truly awesome. I feel that I was receiving the best care a customer could hope for. They really know their products when trying to pick frame shapes, lenses, and tints for your glasses and sunglasses. I think this is the happiest I've been with my choices in twenty years. Will come back again. Worth the drive in from our smaller town.
Everything was good until I coughed two times and sneezed two times. Then one lady, worker made me leave because it was making her "uncomfortable."But yet she wasn't with a mask herself, if she was so worried about it and she was about 20 feet away from me. I guess allergies don't go around this time of year for some, and I guess we all can avoid "germs" at all costs.... Other then that experience today, it's a pretty great place. The other workers have been amazing with my kids!
Really negative experience here. Had trouble finding the office and was 5 minutes late to my appointment. Wasn't greeted initially and overheard the receptionist being super rude to someone on the phone. I was told my appointment was being pushed back for my tardiness and it was my fault for not knowing where the office was. Really disappointing experience, hopefully in the future they treat others with more kindness and consideration.
Also, after reading the owner's responses it's pretty obvious where the negative attitude comes from! Hope they realize these reviews are for customers, not for owners to defend poor business quality.
