Yale Eye Center

This is my review on my recent visit, my only visit. Overall, I would give this place three stars only because the doctor's professionalism and the wait time which is understandable. Care seemed excellent other than personality of the doctor. Personally witnessing the attending doctor tearing down his residents in front of patients was not ideal or welcoming as a new patient (or patient at all). The doctor I saw was extremely condescending, a know-it-all, And just flat out rude in some regards. Just because you work at Yale, New Haven does not mean you deserve to flaunt an ego like that. The doctor I saw did not go to an Ivy League college and I'm sure he didn't study at an Ivy League college at all with an internship OR residency (per google). so there's no reason for him to act as cocky as he did. disrespecting your residents in front of your patients, when your residents were extremely kind and knowledgeable, is actually insane. I actually would've preferred to see the resident as my doctor instead of the person I was scheduled with. There's so much I can say, but basically, go there if you need to, but if you have a choice, go to UCONN.

Having to show up 15 minutes early for an appointment just to wait over an hour to see the doctor is ridiculous. If I was this late my appointment would be canceled and I would see a bill.. how do I bill an office for these wait times

Absolutely the worst! It takes 30-45 minutes to Cancel an appointment on the phone. Good luck trying to get a nurse on the phone. Called them with an emergency that requested a specialist, almost 4 hours later a return phone call of "we can't help you". And who thought it was a good idea to send appointment information via text and or email to a person who is legally blind! This is just what's on the surface image the areas we can't see.

Quality outfit good people. Professional but not robotic, personal without being fake or nosey. My experiences have been pleasant, efficient, very hugenic and relatively quick for a busy Dr office. The only downside I can see is having to deal with downtown New Haven and it's traffic. Otherwise it has been a very positive experience even though I'd rather not have vision issues.

Wait times are unreal. This is blatantly disrespectful. They don't value your time at all.

After insurance, charged over 600$ to get 0 help, an eye glasses prescription that is lower than my previous, despite being told my eyes got worse, no contacts prescription despite being told by the doctor to switch contact lenses, and when I called to ask for an explanation, another appointment randomly scheduled instead of follow up. No thanks, I would not like to owe you over $1000 to get a contact lenses prescription. The telehealth model just isn't appropriate for this form of healthcare. I know how the us healthcare system works, but I really hate when certain providers pay no mind to cost and effectiveness.

Love Dr. Teng, he is a top notch doctor. He's casual and friendly, but very professional. He is very kind to his patients. He had a wonderful way with my mother. My mom had a cataract that no one thought could be removed and she'd get her vision back. Thanks to Dr. Teng and his team, she sees better than ever. Very thankful for him and his expertise. Would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Teng has been the most comprehensive eye specialist, I had . His skill set is outstanding. His communication with his patients is clear and educational. A caring top of the line Specialist. we are lucky to have such exceptional talent in our healthcare system . He indeed is a top doc. Respectfully, Donna Wise / Patient
