I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Dr Saxon and his entire team! As a first-time patient switching doctors, I was a little nervous--but from the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Dr. Saxon was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I fully understood my eye health and options. I never felt rushed, and his professionalism combined with his warm approach immediately put me at ease. A very special thank you to Suzanne for helping me pick out multiple pairs of fabulous new glasses! She was so knowledgeable, honest, and fun to work with. She made the process easy and enjoyable, and I absolutely love the frames we chose. This practice truly goes above and beyond. I'm so happy I made the switch -- I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend to anyone looking for exceptional, compassionate eye care.

I only had prior experience with the NH location, which was excellent. I chose the Hamden location this time because it is closer to my current residence. The experience couldn't be better. Dr. Jeremy Saxon performed the best eye exam I've had in my 30 years of wearing glasses. He was thorough, patient, and interested in my feedback. I felt very well cared for. Victoria helped me find my next pair of glasses, and did it with no rush, at my own pace. She also found the anti-reflectant upgrade I needed. This is how you build customer loyalty. I'm not looking elsewhere for my eye care!

Avoid this location at all costs. Terrible business practice, customer service, and communication. I have been a customer of Kennedy & Perkins for nearly 10 years, and I have always been at the New Haven location (which I find excellent). I went to this Hamden location for this year's eye exam and glasses purchase since the NH location was fully booked. They (Cynthia) quoted me a number that I accepted--but later my credit card bill shows a number that is 50% higher than the quoted price. I called to reconcile the discrepancy and OMG, Cynthia did not even let me finish a sentence, and aggressively claimed that I misremembered the number, it must be soemthing wrong with my understanding of things, etc. (Honestly, they did not allow to see and sign anything. My bad for not insisting on seeing the number on paper, but I had full trust in the shop. Lessons learned.) I am pretty sure the quoted price was correct and the charged high price is wrong, because I got exactly the same frame and prescription 12 months ago in the NH location and they were 40% cheaper than the new charge--even the inflation won't justify this! I'd be totally fine with paying whatever it should be, but the whole process--including mis-quoting price, not being transparent in the process, and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and lack of any desire to reconcile issues with a long-time customer is just horrible. Please stay away from this location. --- Update 5 days after the review: I received a call from the store manager, who acknowledged the mistake and corrected the overcharge. I appreciated the follow-up. ---

The Kennedy & Perkins optical shop (on Whitney Ave. in Hamden/North Haven) has the best selection of cool eyeglasses I've ever seen! They even have my favorite brand, the quirky Theo brand from Belgium (slogan: "Theo loves you!"). Siran is a FABULOUS optician! She's a great advisor regarding which frames go well on a particular person, and she is superbly skilled and patient at getting the eyeglasses adjusted just right. I am so glad to have found her! (All the people in the shop are friendly and competent.)

I could not be more pleased with my new glasses. This was my first experience with this optical facility. I had gotten an exam from another source whose optical shop was dismal. I walked in at Kennedy & Perkins & found the first selection suggested perfect for me! I picked up my new eyewear 1 1/2 weeks later. There were absolutely no adjustments needed for my progressive lenses. I am 76, worn glasses for years, and have never had this happen before! I am positively delighted.

Great service in the Kennedy & Perkins in Hamden! The whole staff is professional and nice, the store is very neat. I try to make appointment with Julian Vermund O.D. for my annual eye exams when he is available, he is a great provider. Thorough and explained everything about my eye exam and condition. I am specially grateful to Siran for helping me with a difficult and lengthy problem. She is courteous, knowledgeable, kind, really over and beyond! 10/10 for Siran, she is a great member of the Kennedy & Perkins team. Would highly recommend this Kennedy & Perkins location.

I have been going to Kennedy and Perkins for about 20 years always getting eye glasses that worked- a challenging prism issue. Over the years each optometrist took great care to "get it just right"!. Siran then helped me get the frames and the graduated lens that work, I am an OBGYN a compulsive reader and e-bike so good vision ( all distances) is mission critical. This is a superb shop with terrific staff. .

My appointment with the Dr was fantastic, always very polite and knowledgeable. But when I order my new glasses it was good until after I find out they offer me a 25% off and because the frame I did like it was very expensive I look for another one, and this lady offer me a 30% (5% more off) it ok, not great; so I accepted it. Later on I check my insurance benefits and Oh my surprise, that 30% off it was what my insurance cover; so when I when to pick up the glasses I inform about that, he told me is going to talk to the manager and call me back, a week passed and nothing, I when back to this place and spoke to the woman I originally get the my prescription and told her what happen; again she told me is going to speak to the manager and she will call me back....and no phone call, so far. If you are going to this place know your insurance coverage before your appointment or getting your prescription or they will fools you!
