Higgins Brothers' Vision Care

This is abit long, but it exemplifies the quality, character of service and overall satisfaction I received at this Provider. I'm an older fellow, not that old, but old enough to know the following. When you go to The DMV to renew your License, you're going to have to look into that visual field "box." I thought, I'll just drop in at my local big box wholesale store, get an eye exam in advance, have them fill out the Medical Examiners Form, grab a Hot Dog and a Soda for a $1.50 and hit that DMV appointment the next week with no worries. NOPE I left that location with No Hot Dog, No Soda, and No PROGNOSIS. I spent the weekend considering the ramifications of cancer of the eye. I came home and my FAMILY listened to my concerns, they definitely were not having any part of my plan of commissioning a seeing eye goat. In short. My sister said, "Dude, relax, go see Donnie on Monday morning." My brother in law offered me a drink. I can not stress this enough, from the professional contractor at the rear of the building, who came down off a 20' ladder so I wouldn't jinx myself by walking under, to the first person I met, who asked to see my glasses straight away, and fixed them without a thought, it continued to ultimate professionalism. Yes, I did/do have a concern of the eye, due to HIPA, I won't elaborate, suffice it to say Dr. Higgins, and his entire staff provided me not only the best Opthamalic Services I have ever experienced. Incidentally, I was the 3 yearold kid everyone called the pirate with the patch over one eye, so I speak from some authority, as I have been seeing and or not seeing this practice since the age of three, Dr. P. was one of my little kid hero's. And I truly miss Mrs H., as she would greet you upon entry. The update I experienced upon moving back home after 38 years out west was/is just as comforting, down to the lovely candles that drape the lobby, or are they Coral. ~ SDM 10/2025

I very rarely make reviews unless it is the BEST experience. This is far past the best experience. For starters, Ewelina was the absolute sweetest. She started off with doing some tests on my eyes and instead of just getting them done and sending me to Dr. Higgins, she took the time to give me advice on what she's been through with dry eye and was very informational. Ewelina alone made this a very personal experience and made me so comfortable. Then I saw Dr. Higgins, who also exceeded any expectations I had. He took a lot of time to explain / show me what I have going on with my eyes and why. He was very kind and again made this such a pleasant experience. He even went above and beyond to schedule future procedures with my schedule which was so kind to offer. Dry eye has been debilitating to my life, and I'm so excited to continue with this company and alleviate my symptoms. Thank you HB vision care, and keep up the amazing work

From the moment you walk in, you're warmly greeted by the front desk, and that welcoming feeling continues all the way through your visit. The technician, the doctor, and especially the tech who spent so much time helping me find the most comfortable contact lenses were all incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind. Everyone truly goes above and beyond, making you feel less like a patient and more like family. Such a friendly, professional, and caring team--I couldn't recommend them more.

The selection of frames is impressive, and that's where Nicole truly shines. She consistently goes above and beyond to provide outstanding service. Her extensive knowledge of frames and contacts, combined with her keen eye for style and patient needs, make the experience enjoyable and stress-free. Scheduling is always convenient--I've even been able to get next-day appointments for glasses adjustments. Nicole's dedication is remarkable, often going out of her way to accommodate patients. This practice delivers top-notch care and service from start to finish. Absolutely a 10 out of 10 experience!

It took me a little while to sit down and write this review, but it's finally here--and well deserved! From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. I instantly felt right at home. Dr. Higgins listened closely to my concerns and took the time to explain everything clearly. He was so patient and kind. And a big shout-out to Nicole, who helped me pick out the perfect frames--I decided to be bold and go for the multicolored ones! When my glasses arrived, something felt slightly off with the distance vision. Nicole didn't hesitate to help. She adjusted the frames, and when that didn't fully solve it, she got creative. We even stepped outside to test how well I could read signs from afar. That's when we realized my prescription needed a small tweak. THEY ARE THE BEST! As a nurse my eyesight is extremely important to me. When I recently started to notice a problem with my eyesight I immediately went to my optometrist for guidance, then the ER. I was told of various terrible things I may have. After waiting weeks upon weeks to complete MRIs, labs, get referrals and make appointments (months out) with various specialities...never mind having more tests done at my original optometrists office...I was feeling hopeless as no one could tell me what was going on. My daughter's ophthalmology specialist in Boston had told her to ONLY use Higgins Practice for her post lasik dry eye disease follow up. So in a desperate attempt for answers, I made an appointment and was brought in within a few days! I was impressed walking in. Although the status of the waiting room and office was the least of my concerns; I entered a cheery colorful sparkling clean yet cosy area with professional smiling people. Quickly I was checked in everything was organized and streamlined. After a few minutes I was brought back and had initial baseline testing and dilation completed by the tech who was friendly, fast and very skilled. The doctor HIMSELF then came to get me from the waiting room. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and after an exam and a few more tests, he instantly knew what the problem was. He wasn't guessing, or soothing me. He just knew based off his over 40 years of experience and seeing just about everything I was having irregular astigmatism issues. He was then quickly able to work with me to find the best solutions. He explained the situation in easy to understand terms, and was so confident and reassuring I was almost in complete shock. Now they are working to create the best lenses for me to improve my vision, and can keep monitoring it ahead so I stay right at the top of my game. It's been FOUR months of stress and scrambling to get a diagnosis. And visiting Higgins it took less then an hour to get a diagnosis and treatment plan. If I had gone there first none of the stress would have occurred. They are the contact lense, dry eye experts. If you simply need corrected vision then sure ...the big boxes places are probably fine in my view. But if there is a problem, don't waste time...go to Higgins! In fact...anyone with a diagnosis or family history of disease that can affect your eyesight ...if you get an exam at Higgins you can leave with confidence. I did. It was absolutely life changing. I also bought a new pair of glasses while in was there I'm so excited to get. It was the best fitting and best service I have ever received in forty years of wearing glasses and visiting just about everywhere else! And the price was excellent as they worked with my VSP benefits. Thank you Higgins Bros for helping me and I'm excited to trial the contacts ahead ! It was well worth the 45 minute ride in fact I would drive many more hours to receive such great help!

This was the best eye care experience I've had. Dr. Higgins and his staff are all professionals. Nicole the optical manager is the absolute best. She spends a lot of time helping to pick out frames to make you look and feel your best. She gave me confidence to go for a "new look". I love my new glasses & sunglasses. I couldn't be happier with the entire visit from start to finish. Thank you all!!

I love this office EVERYONE is so nice!! Dr Higgins is so caring and genuinely shows you that your eyes are his top priority. He has so much knowledge and experience in his field you just know you're in great hands. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a new Eye Doctor!
