MyEyeDr.

All done with MyEyeDr in Torrington CT. This past year, we purchased contact lenses for our daughter and we found out we could not take possession of the contact lenses that had then already been paid for until she could demonstrate her ability to apply and remove the contact lenses in the office- something that from my own experience with having contact lenses as a child takes practice over multiple consecutive days to get comfortable with. We had to make multiple appointments for this because it turns out that it took more practice than was allotted for in the appointments. The availability for scheduling meant there was a week or more between the each of these visits with the implication that any comfort that she developed with the process would be lost by the next appointment since we could not practice with the contact lenses at home. Apparently, this requirement for us to take possession of our own property, had additional costs to it that were not correctly accounted for by MyEye Dr. staff with regards to out of pocket cost based on the assumption they made about what our insurance plan would cover. To our knowledge there was no attempt at clarification from staff at MyEye Dr. that there was an issue with the assumption their office made about the amount covered by our insurance- not by phone or at any of the three subsequent appointments that were required for us to take possession of our purchase. Having never been informed about where the charge was coming from in the first place, when we eventually tried to clarify the charge to ensure that we wouldn't be paying for an accounting mistake, we were informed that the balance was sent to a debt collector with implications for my spouse's otherwise squeaky clean credit score. A ~$100 charge that we could have, and would have, easily paid will now impact interest rates on large purchases for my household for several years simply because the staff at MyEye Dr. don't have enough respect for their customers to make a phone call to them before they contact a collections agency. All four of the members of our household have been going to MyEyeDr in Torrington for years, purchasing services and products on a yearly basis. That will not be the case going forward. We will let family and friends know about this experience and how it compares to where we will be spending our money in the future.

The staff here were so much kinder and educated than the staff I experienced in Winsted last year. It was well communicated that they were a few minutes behind. The techs were quick and efficient and the remote dr was kind. Even the gentleman who helped me with frames and lens options was knowledgeable and helpful. Best location yet.

Wasn't Going to write anything since it was a while ago But my last encounter was with I think the manager and basically I came a few minutes late like about 5 to 6 Me and my mom have been going through a weird situation. We just lost my dad and she ( the manager ) Was his being straight out rude about us being a few minutes late my mom was at the time coming from the bank over some house settlements And I just told her to chill out and she got mad kicked us out and refused and services it's just sad I mean there's a reason though that this place only has 3 stars

My appointment was canceled for two years. They then offered online doctors, but I have to pay $44 out of pocket. There is always a lack of doctors available, which is very frustrating. I will not recommend anybody go there unless you wanna deal with this nonsense.

I can't comment on their services but I can confirm long wait times and rude staff that are definitely not paying attention. After waiting 30 minutes for my 4:40 appointment I was told at least another 40 minute wait. Amber came in and got immediate service though. I figure bad day reschedule only to be told if I couldn't make an 8:20 appointment that I'd be in the same situation. Three days later and they're asking me for my most updated insurance? Haven't met the doctor but there's no way she's good enough to deal with that.

It started out very nicely. Daniel was able to get me an appointment very quickly. The appointment was on time and they tested my eyes various ways, then I got to see Dr Sparks. She ordered a lens for me and a week later it came in which was very reasonable, it needed a correction so she reordered a replacement lens and that was almost 5 weeks ago. I called the office today and they knew nothing about it and Dr Sparks wasn't in. Not good. I just missed a call from Somoan (?) and she left me I'll message and ask her to return her call so she could talk to me. So I immediately call the number back she said she was at extension 103 which I entered and the phone call was ended I tried three or four times and the same thing three or four times it ended. So I tried calling the local store here in Torrington and no one picked up. Really wondering if I made the right choice on trying my eye doctor. I received a call from the new manager, Kendra, at the Torrington location and we got the whole situation straightened out. Also a Thank you to Erin who called me and told me my lens had arrived and I could pick it up at any time. It looks like from now on things will go smoothly.. Thank you..

My children and I just became clients last year. Now all they do is a facetime with the Dr. they still charge the same amount except now you need to pay $44 to have a picture of your eyes done so she can look at them. Not acceptable, we are looking for a new eye Dr. which is terrible because we left Fitchmen eye center because they didn't want to come to work if the Dr. was off. Now this.

Good if you have insurance coverage and it's the only place you can go. Even with insurance, glasses were more expensive than at my private vision center, and they did not back them up within a year of getting them. Going back to the non-covered practice.
