My husband was given an urgent referral and was sent there to be seen right after his eye exam. They turned him away and did nothing to get him seen in a timely manner. After being told there was nothing they can do since he is not an existing patient I was able to call multiple practices and got an appointment the same day elsewhere. Unfortunately they don't take urgent problems seriously and we are happy to go to someone else who actually cares to help out despite us not being existing patients

Dr. Hwang is not only the best in her field but she genuinely has compassion for her patients . It is not easy to tell someone they have macular degeneration and guide them gently through the process . She has always been kind and somehow manages the time to actually listen to you. She is also a humanitarian and few realize that she donates her beautiful hair to those who need find comfort in their lives. It is obvious that she loves what she has chosen for her life's work and as a patient it warms your heart .It is a privilege to highly recommend her to anyone in need of care with challenging issues.

Dr Hwang did cataracts surgery on both my eyes. She seemed to be a very solid doctor but, I've found, since her office joined the Yale medical group, they are impossible to communicate with. I am currently having a follow up issue and have been trying to set up an appointment for over a month now. Four phone calls. Three with very long hold but no pick up and one discussion with answering service from which I never got a response. Have left a MyChart message over a week ago and no response to that either. No matter how good of a doctor a person is means nothing if you can't get in to see them.

Dr. Hwang performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes last summer. I was called back for several follow up visits which I assumed were covered by Medicare. I then got a bill for a test that was not covered. When I questioned the charge to Yale billing, I was told that doctors perform tests they think are necessary. I accept that, but feel that I should have been informed that this was not covered so I could make my own decision. Patients need to be made aware when charges may not be covered. Yale actually has a form for this that doctors need to provide to their patients.

Great experience and highly recommend. Dr. Hwang is very personable and professional and the entire staff treated me with respect. I came in with an emergency situation and they were able to squeeze me in. A couple months down the road, I ended up having cataract surgery and she did a wonderful job. Everything was explained well so there were no surprises. Donna from the office worked extra hard on getting my insurance in order, making several calls and enduring long phone calls. I can't tell you what a relief that was. I would not not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hwang.

Dr. Hwang, apparently, is the only specialist in Connecticut who can fix my wife's eye. We were referred to her and her office said she couldn't see us for 8 months. Wife just needs a 15 min consultation? Are you really that busy to not see a patient with a genuine concern? Our insurance is good!

I came to this clinic about two months ago and it was not a great experience. I had my pupils dilated and they would not provide me with sunglasses. When I expressed my concerns to my doctor about my vision she effectively told me to just deal with it. At the end of the appointment I was told that I owed no money but about two weeks after I was sent a bill. Everything about the experience was very frustrating.
