Cohen's of Waterford, CT sales staff have provided our family with good style advice and respectful, pleasant service for over a decade. Virtual Dr. Christine Kantor was personable and informative, answering all my questions, addressing all my concerns. Exam techs and scheduling need to communicate with clients better. When scheduling, I specifically asked if an in person Dr was available. I was told no but this was not true. My adult sons' technician loudly and sternly proclaimed, in the showroom, to a cluster of coworkers, she could not complete his exam because "he got angry". Omitting how he told her, 3 times, he could not tolerate the bright light needed for a test, how her tone became irritated, him responding in kind. I asked what happened, then for an alternative test. This is when the in person Dr, available 2 days a week was disclosed, to do the test without the bright light. Why not offer in person Dr instead of a tone? We had to schedule a second visit. A different tech walked me through my exam. We waited in silence for the Virtual Dr., machine between us, she stared at her phone. The virtual Dr had to twice call the techs name and repeat my questions because she was so engrossed in her cell phone she didn't hear them. I found out she omitted a test without asking me if I wanted to omit it or telling me she was doing so. Justifying, because I said the light is bright. I never refused the test or complained, simply stating a fact. I will have to return to get that test done. I was also not informed upon scheduling, the clients need to be forewarned, virtual and in person doctor imaging is not shared. We paid $45- out of pocket, per visit, so the images could be used for comparison at future visits. Why can't the virtual doc look at what I paid for?

I went back to Cohens after years of going somewhere else, and I am sorry I did. I bought a pair of regular glasses, and a pair of sun glasses. The sun glasses I can not wear because it makes my eyes wonky, and the other pair I have brought back several times because either the nose piece falls off, or the lens pops out. The last time I brought them back, the manager was rude to me. I purchased them in April of 25 and I did buy the insurance on them. The color is also chipping on the frame. Frame has been replaced also.

I have been a customer for many years, and Cohen's continues to be outstanding, and go above and beyond in customer service. When I didn't have insurance in the past, they helped me make good decisions that were within my budget. I have interacted with Mike, Emily, and today, Bailey, and they are all polite, professional, and helpful. This past summer I left on vacation without my spare contacts, and the manager, Kirk, helped me to get them in 2 days! It saved my vacation for sure! My whole family has relied on Cohen's for years, and we are so grateful to all of the folks there that continue to do their jobs with integrity and grace.

Exam was great but the rest of the experience was terrible! I've never felt so rushed and pressured into picking a pair of glasses! Not to mention how costly is was. I was told they accepted my insurance and later on found out they don't even participate. I was given a "discount" but still payed double of what I have ever paid anywhere else for a pair of glasses!! When I asked for my prescription I was told I would get it after payment of glasses. I later found out it's against the law to hold the prescription and that i was not required to purchase glasses there!! I was pushed into over paying for glasses from their location! When I tried to use my prescription online to order a second pair at a different company i was told that the prescription was missing information and they could barely read part of it. When I brought it back for a new copy i was given a whole lecture about ordering online which is my choice!! I won't be returning and have since found a new amazing eye doctor for my daughter and I.

My husband and I have purchased several pairs of glasses at Cohen's in Waterford over the last few years. Each and every time, we have been very satisfied with the choices and quality of the glasses. The friendliness and expertise of the staff are excellent. Kirk has consistently provided us with exemplary advice and service.

5 Stars isn't enough to say how fantastic this Cohen's is. From speaking to Mike on the phone and Emily helping us in person at the store - they are an absolute blessing. Not knowing what to do last night finishing up my Night Shift and my glasses decided to pick an opportune time to fall apart. For the time being i scotch tapped them back together so I could see to drive home but what was I going to do now!?! Remembering i had seen a beautiful pair of frames several weeks ago I hoped the folks at Cohen's could help! My new glasses are in the works and will be ready in about an hour! Friendly, Professional and go above and beyond for their customers. If you need glasses this is the only place you should be shopping! I have been using Cohens Optical for many years now and have always received first class service. I wear frameless eyeglasses and I have had to stop in on multiple occasions for adjustment or repair, not once was I made to feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Highly recommended for you optical needs.

Been a customer since 2019. Always have a vast selection of stylish Eyewear. It's very convenient to have an optometrist there as well. The personalization and customer service is just welcoming.
