A Visual Affair

I scheduled an appointment via Zocdoc with Dr. Bindal. When I arrived for my appointment I was seen by a different doctor with no notice (only reason not 5 stars). She was very professional, answered all my questions, and overall pleasant to work with. The rest of the staff were efficient and kind as well. Big fan that they did not try to upsell me on anything I wasn't explicitly looking for. They were in my insurance network which made the prices for contacts lower than any other source I've used in the past. Excited to have a better provider now that I can trust!

Doctor Neeraj is great, and was very patient and understanding with me as I have some phobias about my eyes being examined. I had a routine eye exam as well as more testing due to ongoing issues. He was very clear and thorough explaining how each item would be billed, as some were through vision and some through medical insurance. The office itself is quite small and could use some comfier/cleaner chairs.

I visited this practice for my first eye exam in the US and explicitly mentioned I was unfamiliar with the process. Unfortunately, multiple issues arose: Saw a different provider than the one I had scheduled with, without prior notice Contact lens fitting fee ($40) was never mentioned as an additional charge during my exam Optional eye screening ($39) was mentioned so quickly I almost missed it and could have been charged unknowingly When I caught the billing error, they initially charged me $116 instead of the correct $40 While they eventually corrected the billing mistake and issued a partial refund, their email responses were dismissive and unhelpful. The billing department representative deflected legitimate concerns about informed consent, claimed procedures were "clearly explained" when they weren't, and refused to acknowledge the pattern of poor communication. Their approach shows a pattern of assuming patient knowledge rather than providing clear upfront communication about all costs and options, then dismissing patients who raise valid concerns. For a practice serving international patients and newcomers to the US system, the lack of transparency and dismissive customer service is particularly disappointing.

This was my first visit to Dr. Neeraj's office for a routine eye exam, and it was a great experience! The entire team was amazing and super informative. Dr. Neeraj was kind, engaging, and very thorough in his exam. I truly appreciated his attention to detail and the way he explained everything clearly. It was a pleasant and professional visit from start to finish! I think I found my new optometry family!

This is our second annual visit to the Visual Affairs store. Alexis was absolutely wonderful! He helped us find the perfect pair of glasses with genuine interest, patience, and a great eye. His positive energy and good vibes made the whole experience so enjoyable--we truly had a great time. Highly recommend!

Dr. B is a great doctor and everyone was very attentive of my needs. Even asked if I had any follow up questions after my routine exam. The aide in the front carefully explained the costs of every procedure. Walked away after my 40 min appointment with a prescription, glasses, everything taken care of. Would definitely recommend, found him off zocdoc and genuinely was a nice, efficient, quick experience.

I have been to several eye doctors in the DMV and Visual Affair is hands down the best optometrist I have been to. Dr. Bidal was one of the best eye doctors I have seen and I have had contacts/glasses my whole life. He adjusted both my contact and glasses prescriptions and it made a big difference. Alexi and Heidi helped me with my appointment and order. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend.
