Over the years Dr. Anderson have come a long way, because of insurance the selection of eye Doctors is narrow, I stopped going to him for a period of time because you have to wait so long, but have recently had to start going back to him. Unless you have the first appointment of the day, you can surely expect to be there for hours waiting, even if you have the earliest appointment you still have to wait for a long period of time. Do not make an appointment and expect to still make it to work that day. What I have realized is that a lot of time is spent by the staff and the Doctor engaging in personal conversations with one another and the patients, I think that is so very inconsiderate. The staff has changed numerous times over the years, yet in every turn they are still unprofessional and become easily irritated when questioned about the wait time and when you will be seen. It can be difficult to contact the office by phone and care instructions are vague. At the end of your appointment Dr. Anderson prays with you/ over you which is appreciated but I think can be uncomfortable and inappropriate especially when other patients are waiting. The excuse used to be that it is a family run office so they don't value their patients time, nor do they consider that you might have other things to do in a day. The office gives a dooming vibe and I think some of the treatments that are suggested are unnecessary and are initiated just for money.
This has got to be one of the worse OpthalmIologist offices that I've ever visited. It's always overly scheduled and you have to wait for hours to be seen. Once you're scheduled for surgery and have taken all necessary test, made arrangements for transportation, have someone take off of work to accompany you for surgery, you're waiting for the call to find out what time is your surgery. Just to find out that you're not even on the surgical listing for that date and have to wait another month. Probably to find out Dr. Anderson's office has screwed up again. Find another OpthalmIologist if you're looking for professionalism and efficiency. This office is ridiculous.
I don't really like writing reviews but this place has stood out to me. I think they are being slow on purpose and doctor Anderson age definitely doesn't help much sadly. My mom started going to him as kid so she made me also start going to him as a kid but age definitely got to him. Something was off he didn't seem normal and everything but that's besides the point doctor Anderson cares when he can and wants to it's the people sitting at the desk that throws everything off.
One time a worker was on the phone yelling at the bank about something while sitting behind the desk at work. very ghetto and the whole waiting process and being over book is ridiculous I think this should be criminal the wait time. Almost 2 hours and 30 minutes until you see the actual doctor. Healthcare in DC is terrible in all around!!!!! Go somewhere in Virginia for your business it's the only way you'll really get your eyes taken care and guess what! In less than 30 minutes.
I've been a patient of Dr. Ronald Anderson for several years, and I have always received exemplary service from him. His exams are thorough and given with the utmost care and concern. Moreover, his front office staff are very professional in all they do, from the time I make my appointment until I leave the office.
Because I do contingency work, there are times when I don't have insurance coverage. When I requested an appointment recently, I was quite pleased that the staff person took the time to schedule me on a day when my benefits would still be available. This is the kind of service I've come to expect from
the practice of Dr. Anderson, and I recommend him highly!
The worst practice I've ever visited. Good customer service is nonexistent. The hours of operation is unclear. Online is one time, the sign on the door is another, and the office opens a totally different time. I do not recommend this practice.
Got here 15 min early and still waiting hours to be seen by the doctor. I truly wish that Dr Anderson would have a staff meeting with his staff on professionalism. The front desk clerk moves EXTREMELY SLOW. I had to ask for my health documents back that I've given to her to make a copy, only for her to tell me she hasn't made a copy yet. She's on the phone, and chatting back and forth with the other staff (s) . I'm not sure if the doctor is even here yet. Too many patients are sitting and waiting all at the same time. TRULY UNACCEPTABLE! I never had to wait this long amount of time at My Eye Doctor. Totally rude to keep patients waiting like this , especially ones who are disabilities. Come to work ON TIME and come put and see how many people are actually waiting and the length of time they've been sitting in your office and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I've been a patient of Dr. Anderson's for 15 years. Each visit was exemplary! He not only takes his time in making sure he's giving the best eye care/treatment to his patients, he also prays for us. This is one Ophthalmologist I will continue going to. I've also recommended my family. The staff is great in placing family members together for their appointments. I will always remain loyal to the Anacostia Office!!
Thanks a million!!
On a scale from 1 to 5, where 1 is bad and 5 excellent: Staff professionalism - 2, Office cleanliness and appearance -2
I'm new to the area and wanted to find an ophthalmologist that I can circulate revenue back in the community. My first experience was less than stellar. I was scheduled for the 1st morning appointment, so I thought. Apparently the office practice is to schedule multiple clients at the same time. Whoever arrives first within the allotted time is seen first. Seasoned patients knew the drill and were lined up outside the office before business hours. For my second appointment I adjusted but wow, I had to arrive 40 minutes earlier than my appointment to only to be seen for 20 minutes. I was given a paper prescription for a new pair glasses. I asked if the prescription can be called. It was as if I committed a cardinal sin based on the physicians' response. I lost the paper prescription therefore I called to see if another can be "written". I was told that I would have to pay a $10 fee to get the prescription "re-written". Additional comments,
