Bilal A. Khan MD

I had eye surgery in 2018 by Dr. Khan at Howard University. I was very pleased with his means of communicating with me and the way that he explained everything that would be done during my surgery. He was very patient, professional, and caring because he realized that I was very nervous about the entire procedure. He let me know that he would help me and that when my surgery was over that I would see much better out of my left eye. He was correct because I am seeing much, much better out of the left eye and is continuing to get better. I was very pleased to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Khan and the staff at Howard have done so much to help me maintain my vision through uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension. As my health has improved (with great encouragement from Dr. Khan) they are now working on improving my eyesight as well. Under his supervision I've had cataract surgery and amazingly I no longer have myopia! (near sighted) after wearing glasses for 55 years! I'm very pleased I chose Howard University Opthamology and Dr. Khan.

A few years ago I came in to see Dr. Khan because I was experiencing flashes of light in my right eye. Dr. Khan did a thorough examination and caught what the Doctor I saw just a year prior did not catch. Turns out I had many tears in my retina in both eyes. This is something that could have led to blindness if not recognized in time. Dr. Khan pulled up a digital copy of the tears in my eyes and showed each one to me; everything was so thorough and well explained. Dr. Khan performed a vitrectomy in my right eye and laser barrier surgery in my left eye.The surgery went very well and I am very grateful. I am studying to be a dentist so my eye sight is precious to me. I was truly amazed at how my case was managed so professionally. I've had the absolute best care and experience with Dr. Khan. I literally don't trust anyone else with my eyes. I HIGHLY recommend paying him a visit.

Dr. Khan is one of the best opthamologists I've ever had. He did everything possible to heal my eye because he is EXCELLENT at his craft. He is a good man and a kind man. If I had not relocated, I would still be in his care. I still keep in touch with him because I have confidence in his skills. KUDOS to you, Dr. Khan! Initially I couldn't renew my drivers license failed the eye test twice. After seeing eye doctor at HUH they referred me to their eye surgeon Dr Khan. He showed me the macular hole in my right eye and then performed the surgery to close up the hole. Over the following year he continued to watch my Left eye and determine that potentially there could be another hole forming, so for preventive measures he perform the same surgery on the left eye in October 2018. I'm so very happy with the results and lucky that I was directed to him. He is a wonderful caring physician. Thank you Dr Khan

Dr. Khan was very professional and handled my 92 year-old grandmother with great care. When she first went to Dr. Kahn, we were unsure how much should you be able to see. Her vision was very limited and she was only seeing light. Now my grandmother is recovering from her final procedure, and is doing excellent. Two days after, she can not only can she see more than light, but she is able to see about 2 feet in front of her face. We can't wait to see how much more she improves.
