Dr Green-Simms saw me for an emergency. Her office was helpful in finding a time for me to see her. Dr Green-Simms was able to address the issue quickly and explained carefully what she was doing to treat the problem. She has been my regular ophthalmologist for several years. Excellent Doctor.

Dr. Green-Simms is very thorough. She has always gone the extra mile to attend to my eye needs. Very personable as well. Highly recommend.

For many years, I always went to Costco for my annual eye exams. Two years ago, I decided to seek a "more professional" medical practice for my eye exams, thinking the quality of services would be better. I chose Dr.Amy Green-Sims with Eye Physicians of Washington (DC). Even though I made an appointment, I still had to wait over an hour to be seen. This medical practice uses eye technicians to do the actual eye exams. After the eye exam, Dr Amy Green-Sims enters to examine the eyes and perform the glaucoma test. I expressed concerns that I wasn't seeing crisply with the new prescription. Dr. Green-Sims had to make a correction to my prescription that was just performed. I didn't think much about it at the time. Fast forward to my second eye exam. Again, despite making an appointment, I still had to wait 45 minutes to be called. Even after being called back to an exam room, I still had to wait another 20 minutes before the eye technician came in. The same eye technician performed my eye exam followed by the eye exam by Dr. Amy Green-Sims. Dr. Green-Sims sent me home with three different contact prescriptions to see which one worked better for me. A day later, I called the practice to provide my results and to get my final prescription. I provided my preference to the practice's receptionist (the person that answers all calls). Two days passed, but still no return call from anyone at Eye Physicians of Washington. On the third day, I insisted on speaking with Dr. Amy Green-Sims. Later that day, the eye technician that performed my eye exam called. She stated that the contact lens prescription that I relayed didn't match what she entered on my medical record. Finally, it was determined that the eye tech had entered a significantly different prescription on my online records (i.e., a positive contact lens prescription rather than a negative prescription). Needless to say, there was never a third visit to see Dr. Amy Green-Sims or any other doctor at Eye Physicians of Washington (DC). I'm now happily and contently back with the optician at Costco, near Pentagon City. I have a renewed appreciation for the simplicity of this process. I was wrong to seek what I thought might be a "more professional and/or higher quality" practice. Fact is, it wasn't any more professional or higher quality. Instead, it was just more costly, more bureaucratic, and an extreme inconvenience. I hope my review is helpful to others that may be considering the Eye Physicians of Washington (DC) or Dr. Amy Green-Sims.

Dr. Amy Green-Simms is a wonderful eye doctor, she makes sure everything is right with my eye exams and contact lenses no matter how long my visit is with her, she's very patient with me. A wonderful place to go for my exams!!

Dr. Green-Simms combines tremendous clinical expertise with a wonderful demeanor and bedside manner. Her approach was as effective as it was reassuring, and I hope to have a chance to be seen by her for my future ophthalmology needs.

Dr. Amy Green-Simms is really thorough and helpful, and just an excellent eye doctor! She also had some kind insights when I had cancer and was just really sick. I appreciate her and her staff!!

The office of Dr. Green-Simms lacks transparency and honesty. During my first visit I was not informed that her office didn't accept my insurance, due to some mistake the charges went through. But on my second annual visit I was surprised with a $250 bill. When I called the office to ask why, I was finally told that they don't accept my insurance and that unfortunately this has happened before to patients. This is exactly the problem with healthcare, I was tricked into paying for services that I didn't need (I have great vision) because I thought I was covered. I don't recommend her services.
