The owners are lovely and spent lots of time with me picking the glasses that felt right (plus they have 2 very cute pups!). The eye doctor explained everything and patiently answered all my questions. When my frames came apart a month after I bought a new pair of glasses, the owners got me a whole new pair ofthe same glasses (not faulty this time!) at no extra charge. Friendly and great service.

The owners, Ben and Martin, are incredible. They not only help you pick out interesting, high-quality glasses that you can't find elsewhere, but they are responsive and helpful. For example, I have specific preferences about how I like lenses were cut, and they were so patient and kind as we went round and round with the lab. Bonus: You can pet their friendly dogs while you shop!

I put down a $200 deposit for some glasses but declined to get them once I realized full price was out of my budget. To this day, Dupont optical has refused to give me a refund... I've called over the and sent emails to no avail. There was no mention of a "no refund" policy so it's all just very scammy. They basically stole $200 from me.

I just had the best experience buying frames here. They are only letting customers in by appointment due to COVID which actually made for the most personable and engaged shopping experience. As soon as I told the owner what I liked, he found an incredible selection of frames for me that all were totally what I was looking for. And then both guys spent over an hour helping me decide what to get. I highly recommend this store if you want to spend a bit of money on great frames and want to be really seen and heard by the owners.

It had been a good ten years since the last time I had bought my first pair of glasses and I wanted to get them fixed, so I did some research to get my pair of iC Berlin's fixed up and contacted Martin of DuPont Optical to see if they could be fixed. Martin responded to my email for an appointment very quickly and I came into the shop with my old pair of glasses. It quickly became apparent that I wanted a new pair of glasses, and given the superb selection of glasses in the store I started trying on some new models. Both Martin and Ben, the store owners, were extremely attentive and started showing me a wonderful selection of new glasses. I chose a pair of beautiful Gold + Wood glasses which I am extremely happy with. Oh, and Martin and Ben also fixed up my old pair of iC Berlin's. I can't recommend this place enough - both for the service and selection. I wouldn't shop anywhere else the city.

I travel frequently for work and other pursuits, but among all the choices in the world, I only get my glasses in D.C. at Dupont Optical. I've been a customer for years and always find unique and stylish specs. On top of the great selection, the customer service is tops. Everyone who works here is knowledgable, friendly, and caring. They will walk you through each step with no pressure to hurry up or buy.

Ben, Martin, and Doug are excellent. I've been getting my frames here for almost 10 years, despite not living in DC. They take the time to find an excellent pair of frames for you (pulling out dozens to try on!), and will make sure they fit right and suit your needs. Their selection is upscale, but not showy, so you really get what you pay for (if you're looking for a vaguely-Italian recognizable brand name to broadcast on your bows, you're in the wrong spot). But if you want a well-curated selection of frames that you can't find anywhere else, with a staff that will go through them all to get the ones that you look fantastic in, this is the store for you.

Benjamin and Martin are the best! I wore the last pair of glasses I purchased here for over 5 years. After they were damaged by my toddler, I bought a new pair (during COVID) and was reminded of Dupont Optical's excellent service. Frames are $$$ but quality/style are worth it!
