have been going to Eyes on Sterling for about four years, and my experience has been consistently excellent. The entire team is professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. From the front desk to the providers, you are treated with respect and care every time.
What truly stands out is their willingness to help, even in urgent situations. On more than one occasion, I've needed a last-minute appointment for an emergency, and they made it happen without hesitation. That level of responsiveness and dedication is rare.
They run an efficient, well-organized practice while still making patients feel valued and supported. I always leave feeling confident in the care I received.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate, and high-quality eye care.
The office is clean, bright and has a great selection. The ladies help ALOT for the indecisive person (like myself) to pick out your new glasses. The equipment and tests are detailed and modern. The doctor is nice, and makes you feel comfortable with explaining everything.
I highly recommend!
Reception was personal, caring and professional. Dr. Alvaro? Amazing. Spent inordinate amount of time explaining my issues in detail. Day after my visit, I had a question which was promptly and professionally answered.
Highly recommend.
I was hesitant to come to this place, but when I came, the customer service their professionalism and their acknowledge was something what I needed. They took my insurance and I had no problem. It was better than going to those big eyecare franchises.
I've been going to Krisel Eye Care in Davie for years, and I've had a very mixed experience overall.
First, the positive: the ladies working up front and assisting throughout the visit are consistently friendly, patient, and professional. Even on busy days, they've always been polite, welcoming, and willing to help. They deserve credit because they're the reason I kept coming back as long as I did. They're good at what they do and they treat people with respect, which is unfortunately becoming rare in customer service.
That said, the main issue is consistency and trust. Over the years, the quality of my experience has depended heavily on who I saw. Some visits felt routine and fine, and other visits left me frustrated because my prescription didn't feel quite right. For a long time, I chalked it up to "maybe my eyes are changing" or "maybe I just need time to adjust," but it happened enough times that it started to feel like I wasn't getting the same level of accuracy every visit.
The only time I felt like I truly walked out with the right prescription, where everything felt noticeably sharper and more correct immediately, was when I personally saw Dr. Krisel. That visit was the first time I felt confident that someone really took the time to get it right, and it made me realize the difference between an okay exam and an excellent one. So I want to be clear: Dr. Krisel is the reason I can still say there is real quality here.
Now, where things go downhill is what happens after the exam. Like many optical offices, they do not include pupillary distance with your prescription, and they will tell you they only measure it "when you order glasses." That might sound normal to some people, but it makes absolutely no sense from a customer standpoint when you've paid for an exam and you're being asked for a measurement that is required to order glasses anywhere else, especially online.
I completely understand that PD is considered a fitting measurement, and yes, it can be adjusted slightly depending on the frame. But as a patient, it feels like the PD is being withheld by design because it creates friction for anyone who wants to take their prescription and shop elsewhere. In my opinion, it comes across as a strategy to push patients into buying glasses through the office instead of giving them the full information they need to order confidently online.
And this is the bigger issue: the pricing in-house for frames feels extremely inflated, especially when most of the "name brand" glasses people are pushed toward are owned by the same parent company anyway (Luxottica). Patients are made to feel like they're choosing from a wide variety of brands when in reality you're often just paying a premium for a logo. If someone wants to buy frames in person and pay extra, that's their choice, but it shouldn't feel like the office is intentionally making online ordering harder by withholding a basic measurement.
At the end of the day, I want to support local businesses and I don't mind paying for quality. But the overall vibe here is: nice people, decent service, but the business side feels greedy. It's the kind of place where you feel taken care of right up until the point where you try to do something that doesn't make them more money, like ordering your glasses online. Then suddenly it's "we don't do that" or "we only provide that at time of purchase."
My advice to future patients: if you come here, request Dr. Krisel specifically if you want the best chance at a correct prescription. The staff is kind and will treat you well. But if you want to take your prescription and shop around online for affordable frames, you may have to push harder than you should for basic information like PD, or get it measured somewhere else.
I'm not leaving this review out of spite. I'm leaving it because I've been a loyal patient for years and I believe patients deserve transparency, consistency, and the ability to use the prescription they paid for without unnecessary obstacles.
of all the doctors appointments I have every year this is my favorite one to go to. Sometimes you feel so very rushed at a doctor. Never at Eyes on Stirling. I have been going to Krisel eyecare center, now Eyes on Stirling For 35+ years. I wear glasses every minute that my eyes are open. They always have such beautiful glasses to choose from. This year, I picked out a beautiful pair with Swarovski crystals. I was so excited because I like the bling on my glasses and I was told that they order, especially for me! How about that?
I always have a pleasant experience here. From the ladies at the front desk, the doctors, the lovely lady Ivie or Ivy who does the initial Eye exam, all of the very professional, very welcoming, patient explaining all, not in a rush. Thank you to this wonderful team.
We've been going to this provider for years, ever since we first moved to Florida. The staff is amazing, courteous, professional, and kind. My entire family goes there, myself, two kids, and husband. We all love Dr. Alvaro! Highly recommend this practice.
