I scheduled an appointment online as requested for Friday, Sept 17 @ 9:00 a.m. I received a text confirmation of my appointment. Went to the base this morning and waited and waited for someone to open the door. I was then told by the optical shop that the Dr was out due to illness. Why wasn't I contacted to let me know? It would have saved me time and gas! This is no way to run a business. Won't use them ever again. Got in with Palm Eyecare today and had excellent service! Unfortunately, this system won't let me give them zero stars which is what is deserved.

The optical Center hours are 09:00 - 17:00 Tuesday through Friday. I called at 09:10 and got voice mail and left a message. no call back. I tried again at 10:15 and got voice mail again. Left another message. I went to the base and they told me it would be a $30 copay to see the ON-BASE doctor. I went to eyeworld and they told me the copay for Tricare is $0. If I could have given the receptionist a star rating it would have been below 1 star. Save you time and hard earned money. Find somewhere off-base.

I've gone to this optical center for the last 6 years and have had many different doctors. Dr. Hendrix was by far the most helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. All staff was the same. I felt relaxed and not rushed in any way. It was an excellent experience!

We went to this optical center at Eglin AF base to ask information about buying eyeglasses in June 2019 . The staff was not welcoming and made us feel like we were disturbing them. The military deserves better that that !! We'll go somewhere else outside the base to buy my eyeglasses!

My wife and I got our glasses here. We paid extra for the insurance as we were told "If anything happens to the glasses we have one free replacement". My wife's glasses were stolen, when I called them they told me they don't cover stolen glasses. This optometrist was over priced and the staff very rude.
