Downtown Opticians: Steve F. Atlas, OD

First time I've felt compelled enough to want to immediately leave a positive review for not just the doctor, but the entire staff here! I'm a new patient and they made it such a seamless process. The entire staff is incredible! Dr. Papan was kind, knowledgeable, and she addressed all my concerns directly. Val was amazing - she gave me actual feedback to help me pick out the best frames for my face. It felt like I had a friend there with me to help pick out what looked the best with my specific features. Faye at the front desk was so inviting and such a delight both times I went in and every time we spoke on the phone. No wait time (big bonus these days) and they didn't try to upsell me once. I felt like they all genuinely had my best interest in mind throughout the entire process from the exam, frame selection, to the contact fitting. The definition of quality care, do yourself a favor and give them a call!

Heath is absolutely amazing! He's been taking care of me in the office as well as my mother for over 15 years! Amazing customer service and truly cares about your experience as a patient. So helpful & genuine :)

I decided to try Dr. Atlas after seeing the positive online reviews. Faye, at the front desk greeted me very warmly and was very quick and thorough with the check in process. Dr. Atlas has an amazing, humorous demeanor and he took his time to cover all aspects of the exam, nothing felt rushed. Heath took care of the paper work and made sure that I was getting all necessary benefits applied. I am very pleased with this practice and happy to call this my new home for eye care.

Was a few years behind on my eye exams, the doctor and excellent staff here got me seen, prescribed and all set with a new set of lenses just in time for my Hawaii trip. Val behind the desk is a delight, i would stay damn near blind just to continue checking in with her. All around great staff. Thanks again!

Really happy with my appointment. The ladies in the front are so super sweet and Dr Atlas himself is wonderful. My exam was quick, and efficient! The actual retrieval of frames was just as fast. She had 15 frames for me to try on within minutes. Would recommend to anyone!!

Stay away from this place. My insurance provides me an allotted amount of money for contacts AND glasses per year, or I can double up on one if I choose. This place insisted I only had one credit per year. Would not honor what was included in my plan and tried to make me pay full price for contacts when I actually had coverage. I called my past optometrist minutes later and they were quickly able to pull up my plan and coverage. This place also overcharges -- Charging me around $50 more per contact box. The receptionist was also very rude to me over the phone while I was trying to figure out the price discrepancy and why they were unable to find my correct coverage. She was talking down to me as if I did not understand my OWN coverage. Find another doctor.

I accompanied a friend of mine here on her appointment and everyone was so friendly and helpful and the doctor was great. As my friend was getting her contacts, Melanie was helping her put them on and my friend was terrible at it. But she was very patient and kind, showing her different techniques on how to put them on. In the end I was impressed with the office.

Great experience visiting Dr Atlas and Downtown Opticians. The doctor and his staff (Stacey and Laura) give us very detailed exams, answer all of our questions and provide excellent service, all the while making us comfortable in the process. Everyone is very professional and personable as well. We recently relocated from NY and feel we have found a "home" with them. Thank you to all!!
